Best of Peaches & Willow 2017
Friday, December 29, 2017
As the end of the year approaches my mind is in full on planning and goal setting for the year ahead mode. I'm taking part in two goal setting challenges and planning away in my two, yes! two planners; more on that in another post. One of my big goals this year is to really focus on analytics in order to make my blog and social media platforms grow organically so I thought a fun way for me to look back on Peaches and Willow this year is with a post all about the Best of 2017.
I want to highlight the posts that did best, as far as page views and interactions go so i'm going to share the post for each month with the highest page views. I had no idea how looking back at those numbers would invigorate me and light my soul on fire. Now i'm ready to chase 2018 with such passion and make my page views and interactions even higher than they were this year. I hope that this inspires you to look back at your year and sparks the same passion and drive in you as it has me.
January Goals
Thursday, January 5, 2017
Happy New Year! I'm not sure I'll get tired of saying this for a while because the start of a new year brings so much inspiration for me. I love fresh starts and setting new goals. Earlier this week I shared my 2017 Goals. Today I want to share my goals for January.
Monday Coffee Talk
Monday, November 14, 2016
Hi Peachies! Happy Monday loves. I hope you're all feeling inspired and happy today. I know Mondays usually aren't our favorite days but there is something good in everyday. Today I challenge you to find what makes you happy.
Here's some stuff that's made me happy lately.
Oh Hey, Friday!
Friday, October 28, 2016
This morning while I was standing in the kitchen having coffee with my husband {a total weekday treat because usually this is a weekend thing. Monday thru Friday he's usually out the door before i'm even out of bed} he said "you know what the best part about Friday is? When I asked what I couldn't help but giggle at his answer. "Saturday" that's what he said. Saturday really is the best thing about Friday, y'all but you know what else is good about Friday? The Oh Hey, Friday! link up with the always adorable Karli from September Farm.
Today's top 5 is all about my favorite things from this week. So happy reading y'all and Happy Friday!
Blogging Loves
Thursday, September 29, 2016
Can you believe that tomorrow is the last day of September? It feels like this month has flown by. This also means that this year's Blogtember Challenge with Bailey from Brave Love Blog is almost over. I definitely missed a few prompts but I think i'll do them in October so stay tuned for that.
Today's prompt is one that is so sweet because it's all about showing the love for some of my favorite bloggers. I truly want everyone to succeed and believe in cheering each lovely lady along so please go read these lovelies blogs and show them some love.
Your Fab Five
Share your favorite bloggers/besties and tell us what you love about them! Share a link and give a shout out.
Mamas Blessed
Ashley is one of those sweet ladies you want in your tribe. She's always cheering you on and helping you along.
She supports you 100% and never asks for anything in return.
I met Ashley through another blogger and it turns out we only live about 20 minutes away from each other.
We're planning to meet up soon but in the mean time, we chat every day. Wether it's just popping in to say hi or talking about blogging and Jamberry related things. She sells Jamberry ya'll and if you ever want to host a Facebook party she's the girl for the job!
Hall around Texas
Crystal is another one of those ladies you want in your tribe. Okay, let's be honest, every lady i'm talking about in this post is a lady you want in your tribe. Crystal is a Texas girl who loved her family and Jesus more than anything in the world. She inspires me to strengthen my relationship with Jesus and to be a shining example of Him through all things I do. Her little boy reminds me so much of my son when he was that age and I smile when I look at her pictures and read her stories about him because of that. Being a boy mom is full of adventures and fun-her blog reflects that.
Sarah Emily Blogs
Sarah is like my sister from another mister. Yes I went there! I swear it seems like we were separated. She's full of happiness and her life definitely reflects that. She's always there to help you along when you're having a bad day or need a friend to talk to.
She's the kind who will take time out of her busy life to send you a care package because she knows you've been struggling.
Vintage Simply Love
Janelle is such a sweet soul. Her blog is one of those that is full of comfort and little snaps of life that just inspire you.
When i'm feeling blue I hop on to her blog or instagram and feel so happy and inspired again.
If I had to describe her in one word it would be, Joyful. She can take the hardest of times and make it look so beautiful.
She always finds the happiness in everything. I can tell you she's one of those people who just makes you feel content,
like you've known her forever.
Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas
Mistle is just a doll! She's always so happy and inspiring.
She's got ideas and she's not afraid to share them. She's seriously the sweetest.
If you need anything you can run to this girl.
She's one of the ladies I can always count on to leave love on my posts and interact with me.
And in fact, she and I have talked about doing a collaboration link up.
If I had to sum up my blogging tribe these fabulous five ladies are it. Of course there are others that I interact with but these ladies are the first ones I run to their sites and instagram feeds to see what they're doing now. All of these ladies are going places y'all because they are genuinely themselves. They work hard and love harder. They're always cheering everyone else along and realize that there is room for all of us to succeed. These are the ladies that I would consider friends outside of the blogging world, too because they are everything I want in true friends. So please, go check out their sites and leave them some love, too.

Three Of My Favorite Blog Posts
Wednesday, August 24, 2016
Hello Peachies. I'm not going to lie to you. I'm link up obsessed. They're such a fun way to get to know other bloggers and show some love while you get a little love and traffic on your posts, too. If you've been around here for any amount of time then you know i'm all about cheering every beautiful lady on because I believe there's enough room for each of us to grow, flourish, and succeed. And I want that for every single one of us so when I came across Roxy from Royalty in Reality's link up 3 Things I wrote myself a reminder to participate this Thursday.
So here I am. Today I'm going to share my Three Favorite Blog Posts I've Written but before I do I want to warn you that some of these posts are older so the content isn't up to par with now but I leave them that way because they are real, they are raw, and they serve as a reminder of how far i've come. Even so, the topics are some that are my favorites. They're something i'm still proud to show off because this is real and i'm not trying to paint some perfect picture of my perfect life. We go through seasons of growth and change and these are proof of that.
Three Favorite Blog Posts
How To Clean Your Make Up Brushes
This post is one of my favorite ones i've done because cleaning your make up brushes is so important. It's something I never used to do but now I clean my brushes religiously. My skin stays super healthy and glowy and makes my make up go on smooth.
National Tell A Fairy Tale Day
Who can resist a fairy tale? This is my every day, real life fairy tale. Somedays I feel like Cinderella before the ball. Other days I feel like Cinderella at the ball but everyday i'm blessed to be living my fairy tale life.
My Favorite Quotes
I've been obsessed with quotes since I can remember because I feel like I can sum my life up in quotes. These are my favorite #girlboss motivation quotes.
If you loved this post and want to link up here's how.
Share your post featuring a list of three things. The titles must include the number 3 - for example, "3 Reasons I Love Maxi Dresses," "3 Pink Lipstick Shades for Summer," "3 Fabulous Restaurants in Rome," or "3 Ways to Prepare for a New Baby." The sky is the limit in terms of the content of your post. Be creative and have fun with it. It's suggested that you publish your posts on Thursdays, but they can be published any day of the week and you are more than welcome to share old posts.
Link back to Royalty in Reality and mention the link up in your post so that others can join in! Feel free to use the button provided.
And since I love to cheer all you beautiful ladies on, share with me your favorite blog post you've ever written and i'll return the love.

On Wednesdays We Confess
Wednesday, August 17, 2016
Hello Pretty Peachies! We're almost through the week and I feel like a rockstar. I'm finally getting the hang of our back to school schedule and feeling pretty good. It also helps that I have The Bachelor in Paradise on tv and Wednesday Confessions with my super sweet blogger friend Mistle from Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas
On Wednesday We Confess
I Confess i'm starting to love early mornings again. During the week anyway.
I Confess I can't stop watching The Bachelor in Paradise. Is Ashley the female Chad?
In other news, the twins are my fave girls on the show.
I Confess today is the first day all week i've worn make up. I've had it on all of an hour and it's already bothering me.
Allergies suck.
I Confess Insta stories are growing on me but I'm not giving in. You can still find me on Snapchat:georgiapeachy82
I Confess I read that you have to be approved to link to Liketoknow.it. Is this true?
If so then my blog is no where near ready for that and i'm a little bummed. #GOALS
I Confess I'm loving these days when I only have to leave the house to take my son to school and pick him up.
I Confess I'm also loving creating new make up looks but I have no idea how to photograph them.
I Confess I'm already crushing hard on all the fall things. I'm normally a summer girl but I'm so ready for fall this year.
I Confess I can't get ahead in my blogging game. Seriously struggling.
I Confess I'm excited to watch American Housewife. It looks hilarious.
I Confess I love the Mom Card Movement with Nifty Betty on Instagram.
I Confess yesterday I cleaned my car out. The amount of dog hair was ridiculous.
I'm pretty proud of myself for that one. However, now my hubby knows I'm capable of using a shop vac. Hahaha.
I Confess I'm happy that it's almost the weekend and we have nothing planned! YAY!
What do you want to confess this week?
Blogging Wisdom
Wednesday, July 13, 2016
Hi Peachies! Today's post is something that I'm sharing because I hope it can inspire and help new bloggers or anyone in a blogging rut.
I'm not a professional, myself, so all statements are my own opinions and findings through my own blogging journey.
I started blogging in 2013, actually I think it was around 2010. My son's first grade teacher had a class blog that all the parents could read and interact on. Even the kids left sweet comments. It got me thinking about the moments I wanted to capture and save so I started a blog, two actually, one for me and one for my son. It was never meant to go anywhere. I had no idea how to even make it start going somewhere so I blogged what was on my heart for my blog and shared my son's milestones on his and proudly e-mailed his out to all the family, especially those who live out of state.
I had just started reading blogs like Kevin and Amanda & Maggie Whitley Designs and while I swooned over them daily, I had no idea that a girl like me could start a blog and have it become something. Honestly, i'm not even sure how I figured it out or who showed me the way. I just did it. Because i'm nosey and have Google, y'all!
In 2013, I merged the two blogs into one (and sadly lost all those moments I was saving for my son, because amateur) and I started one blog. When that wasn't going in any direction at all I scratched it and started over with Peachy Keen-A Southern State of Mind, that was in May 2013.
You can see my first post here.
Since then my blog has been through many changes as I've grown. Just recently (this week) my blog has gotten a mini face lift and a new name, Peaches & Willow. I'm like Beyonce over here, y'all, I keep re-inventing myself. Can't stop. Won't stop.
In all my growth as a blogger I've learned some things. And I still have a lot to learn but I want to share some of those things here. Now. Today.
Here's what I've learned in blogging (so far).
+ Don't feel like you have to fit into a niche or fit in anywhere.
It's okay to be a "lifestyle" blogger. That's pretty all encompassing and that's okay.
My life doesn't fit into a niche, so guess what? Neither does my blog!
If you want to blog about recipes one day, heart stuff the next, and recipes the day after-do it!
Don't conform to titles and niches, if you don't want.
+ Be genuine and blog about what your passionate about.
People can read through you if you aren't being true to yourself. Yes! Even on the internet.
Make your blog a true reflection of yourself and if you aren't passionate about it, don't blog about it.
+ Get invovled in Facebook groups.
This was a game changer for me, y'all. When I found out there were blogging groups on Facebook I was excited.
People who understand me and have the same goals as me?!?
It was through my blogging groups that i've found my tribe & grown my blog exponentially.
Join them and share your posts but be engaged and share theirs and comment on theirs, too!
My favorite blogging FB groups are:
Show Your Blog Love
Blog Passion Project
Boost Your Blog
The Peony Project
+ Take as many webinars as you can.
A lot of bloggers like Helene in Between do amazing webinars.
Some even free but you can bet, if she's doing a webinar, i'm all in.
+ Don't blog for free.
I've learned this the hard way. I've had two companies contact me for collaboration posts but there was nothing given in exchange.
I did them because I thought they were a great way to boost my blog, turns out I was being duped.
They were getting free advertisement from me, I was getting nothing.
At least ask if your blog post will be shared so you can get some advertising from it, too.
+ Find a passion project.
A passion project is just that, something you're passionate about. Your blog can be your only passion project & that's okay but remember this quote from Elizabeth Gilbert, “Honor your creativity so much that you don’t demand it to provide for your entire life.”
It's tricky to decipher in terms of blogging because you may want to make money off your blog, trust me, most of us do but this just means that if the joy is sucked out of your passion then you're doing it for the wrong reason. Joy should be just that, joy. Not something dreadful.
+ Get involved on social media.
Share those posts on all platforms of social media you can.
Here are my Social Media profiles.
Google+
Snapchat:georgiapeachy82
but the more platforms you share on, the bigger your following can be.
Of course you can't just dump a post and run. You have to spend time recriprocating what you expect in return.
Leave meaningful comments, not just "nice post" or "thanks for sharing." The more time you spend giving love, the more you get in return.
+ Create a blogging tribe.
This takes time but the more you interact, the more people you're going to meet and click with. I have friends in the blogging community from all over the world now. We talk on SnapChat, Facebook, Instagram, and through e-mail regularly. I've even been asking a couple of them advice about starting to collaborate with brands and how to monetize your blog.
+ Pictures matter.
This is something that I haven't really given much though to until recently. I had one of those "ah ha" moments and it struck me that it's all about the pictures! And who can blame anyone for wanting to look at quality pictures? Since I've been taking better pictures, my Instagram game has changed and so has my blog. I feel so happy putting quality images out. Especially since they are a reflection of me.
+ Quality over Quantity
Speaking of quality. I'm a huge believer in providing quality over quantity. Meaning less posts but better content and better pictures.
Your readers can tell if you're half doing it so just don't. If you aren't 100% into a post or a topic then skip it. There are times when I blog 5-6 days a week and there are times when I blog 2-3. It just depends on the content I'm writing about and what inspires me.
+ Join Link Ups.
Some weeks I do 2-3 link ups. Yes, that's a lot of link ups and a lot of content that I can't fully take credit for but link ups are a great way to network and share your posts plus the content is fun and usually easy to write about. This is sometimes where you find your tribe, too.
+ Brain Storm Ideas.
Remember when we were learning the writing process in Elementary school and how the first part was always to brain storm and write ideas down?
I loved that part because it got the creativity flowing. This is one of those skills that you never thought was very useful, until you started a blog.
When I started out blogging I'd just sit down and see what happened. This didn't always work out for the best. Now I have a notepad dedicated to nothing but blogging topic ideas. I'll sit down at the beginning of the month and write down any topics I can think of. Most of the time I come up with too many to cover in a month so I keep the list rolling on. It's good to have an on going list of ideas, because, when you're in a rut you can look to your list and pick out a topic to write about.
+ Give Into the Planner Craze.
When I first figured out that creative planning was a thing I was instantly hooked. I knew I needed a planner and all the cute pens and stickers and washi tape to go in it. I thought it was just a craze that people were going through but it was a craze I was excited about so I gave in. Now my planner is my life and I look forward to sitting down at the beginning of each month and filling it with blog posts and life events.
Here's the planner I have
Sugar Paper
This one is amazing because it's got tons of note taking space in it.
Remember those webinars I told you I like to take?
Yep! The notes are all in here!
So are tons of other notes related to Social Media and ideas I have.
Here's the next planner I'm swooning after
Day Designer
And Lastly, I'm leaving you with this
Blogging is Hard Work
When I started out I'd sit down at my computer for 30 minutes, type something out, press publish and be done with it.
It was easy. But when I decided I wanted to make this blog go somewhere, I saw it in a totally different perspective.
One I obviously love or I wouldn't still be here but it takes me anywhere from 2 hours to days to get a post ready to be published.
You have to type the whole thing out, go back and proof read, and pictures. Don't forget pictures. Taking them can be tedious enough but then you have to edit them and make graphics for your post.
I started this post yesterday. I worked on it for 2 and a 1/2 hours and another two hours this morning. Usually I like to have my posts ready to hit publish on and scheduled to post on all my social media accounts with Buffer the following morning but yesterday was an unusual day around here so things didn't get done the way I had planned. And that's okay because it's also important to be forgiving to yourself when life happens.

Week 23: What Blogging Has Taught Me
Monday, June 6, 2016
Hello Peachies! Happy Monday. You know what Monday's mean. It's time for the 52 Week Challenge with Sarah from Sarah Emily Blogs and Ashley from Girl Talk.
Today we're talking about What Blogging Has Taught Me.
I started blogging before it was the in thing to do because I wanted to document the important moments in mine and my son's lives. We have family that lives out of state and I thought that was a good way to keep up with them, too. In May of 2013 I was inspired to take my blog to a new level and start networking with other bloggers. I had no idea how to do it, I just had a wish and a dream and I chased it. I re-vamped my blog and set out into the blogging world. Instagram and talking with other bloggers led me to numerous Facebook groups and from there I am making my blogging tribe and blooming with my blog.
What i've learned from blogging is:
+ The look of your blog is important.
I went from using pre-made blogs (which is fine) to making my own designs because I want to learn how to.
I like nice, clean coherent looks with pops of color.
+ Pop ups annoy everyone.
And I will never have them.
+ It's okay not to have a niche.
I'll probably never have a niche because I don't focus solely on one thing.
I'm a lifestyle blogger. That's pretty all encompassing.
+ Blogging requires a lot of time.
It's not just sit down and type out some words, hit publish, and boom! You're done.
It's hours of writing, researching, snapping pictures, creating headers, etc.
+ Having a week's worth of posts ready to go on Sunday and scheduling them to be published through out the week is a dream in my world.
In a dream world, I'd love to be able to do things like that. It's just not how I roll though.
+ Using a planner is a lifesaver in the blogging world.
I winged it through May because I had so much going on and was so inspired but on those days when I'm not feeling it, It's nice to pick up my planner and look at what I have planned.
+ The best way to learn is through other bloggers.
They've been through it, they've figured it out so they know what they're talking about.
+ Join Facebook groups because that's where you get exposure for your blog.
And you can engage with other bloggers, too!
+ Find your blogging tribe and lift each other up. My blogging tribe is amazing.
Sometimes I feel closer to them than I do real life friends. They just get me.
+ Quality over quantity.
Creating good content is better than having posts 7 days a week.
+ Blog about what's important to you.
Your blog should be a genuine reflection of you so share your most genuine self with others.
Sometimes that even means sharing the messy, crazy things.
Being real with your readers will keep them coming back because they'll feel a connection with you when they can read something and think
"Oh, good! Me, too!" OR "Yes! I like, that, too!"
Sarah, from Sarah Emily Blogs and I have had many of those moments. We swear we're long lost sisters because we're so much alike, even the bad stuff.
Don't be afraid to show the bad stuff. You might help someone else through a tough time or you just might bond and make a new friend over it!
+ Interact with your readers.
When you get comments, comment back!
+ Pay attention to your analytics. See how many re-pins you get, how many comments because that's how you gage what your readers enjoy.
And give them more of that and less of the things that don't bring you as much traffic.
+ Never blog for free. I made this mistake a couple times because I felt like I was getting good exposure but in reality, I wasn't.
I was still the only one promoting my posts and doing all the work.
One company even nit picked my post to death and asked me to change it three times! Needless to say, that's when I realized I was being taken advantage of and won't make that mistake again.
I still have a lot to learn in the blogging world and my blog doesn't look perfect.
That's why I join as many groups as I can, I ask for help and advice when I need it and I take webinars.
I'm not blogging for profit yet but i'm in the middle of learning how to make social media kits and how to pitch ideas to companies.
I'm also learning about collaborations and affiliate programs.
It's always a learning experience but I feel like any good thing always will be.
If you want to link up with these beautiful ladies here's how it works.
Rules for the Link-up
1. follow the prompts exactly or put your own spin on them
2. make sure to add our button to your post and link up with us
3. visit other blogs and show them some love
4. the link up will close in 5 days!

Oh, Hey Friday!
Friday, May 13, 2016
Hi Peachies! Are ya'll all cozy with your cup of coffee? If not, what are you waiting for? I'll wait while you go grab a cup.
Now that you're back, it's time for one of my favorite link ups with the always sweet, Karli from September Farm for Oh Hey, Friday!
Here's how it goes.
You can join or just check out her fabulous blog. If you do you should read it from start to finish, you're sure to laugh, smile, and nod in agreeance the whole way through. She's a bubbly, gem of a person & that's just what I know from her blog. She keeps life real.
How does this link up work?
1. Well first off you list 5 things. They can be as random as you want or all about one subject, there are no real rules here.
2. You link up your post at the bottom of hers, not mine. I'm not that fancy.
3. Then you grab the button, from below & add it to yours.
4. Then you spread the word about your blog, her blog, and everyone else's you want.
(I added that part-duh!)

I took Helene from Helene In Between's How To Monetize Your Blog Webinar earlier this week and I am all kinds of inspired now. Like, just want to stay home and work on blogging all day every day, kinda inspired. I also want to take a million pretty pictures like her, too but that's beside the point.
After taking her webinar I decided to look at my personal blog's Pinterest file Peachy Keen Blog
and see how many of my pins have been liked and re-pinned and how many times. So this post benefits me as much as it does you. I'm slightly ashamed of that but not really because there's a lot of awesomeness here.

Oh Hey, Friday!
Friday, March 25, 2016
Hey Peachies! It's finally that glorious day of the week we all look forward to. The day where we can breathe a sig of relief and say hallelujah as we slip into out yoga pants and our a glass of wine because we deserve it. We survived another week.
Of course Fridays are my favorites for another reason, too. It's time to link up with Karli from September Farm for Oh Hey, Friday!

3. Then you grab the button, from below & add it to yours.
4. Then you spread the word about your blog, her blog, and everyone else's you want.
(I added that part-duh!)
Do you have a glass of wine in hand? Okay, too early? Get a glass of sweet tea and get ready for my Fabulous Five.
1. Good Friday.
2. Today is National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day.
Get out there and wear green to show your support.
I'm wearing my green for Ava & Elana.
3. This blog post from Courtney at Her Sailing Soul Own Your Life + Love It really spoke to me this week. Everything she says in this post makes me say "YES!" I honestly said that out loud several times while reading the post. I love her advice to Get Out of Your Own Head, Eliminate Unnecessary Energy & Spend Your Time Intentionally.
4. My blog posts for the week.

There's all my randomness in one post, y'all. Sums up my week pretty well. Minus the puppy eating a Therma Care heat wrap.
Share with me 5 things, any five things you'd like today and have a wonderful Good Friday!

National Days-February
Saturday, February 6, 2016
Hi Peachies! I'm struggling big time today but i'm finally here. Late is better than never? Right? Today is February 6th! What? How did that happen? I'm pretty much on the crazy train today, broken down in Struggle Town but do not fear! I'm going to make the most of Struggle Town while i'm here.
Today I thought of another fun post to add to the beginning of the month so let's talk about what National Holidays there are this month and how those National Holidays should mean an extra day of sleeping in and spending the rest of the day in yoga pants binge watching Netflix and coloring in our adult coloring books. Sounds like a plan? Yes, please?!?
When I think of National Holidays I think of just that, sleeping in and spending the rest of the day being a bum. In the summer that means being a bum at my parent's pool. The rest of the year it means being a bum in my yoga pants binge watching Netflix and all that. National holidays usually involve really good food, friends and family, and wine/beer/margaritas. Regardless of what National Holidays look like to you, I think we can all use a little more celebrating in our lives everyday. So here is a list of my favorite National Holidays in February.
February 1
Freedom from Slavery Day
Baked Alaska Day
February 2
Groundhog Day- And i'll say this. I could give that groundhog a giant hug right now
