Coffee Chat

Happy Monday Loves. I know, Mondays are no fun but I think Mondays would be so much better if we started the day off with coffee and a girlfriend or two. So won't you join me for a coffee date this morning?

If you and I were on a coffee date i'd be drinking a White Chocolate Mocha and eating a French Cruller Donut. They're so light and fluffy; they're definitely my favorites. I'd ask you how you've been and what's new in your life? I love pictures so i'd happily look at any pictures you have of your kids, pets and anything else that is important, beautiful and inspiring to you. I'd show you a few of my family and life lately.

I'd tell you that weekends like the one we just had are the kind that my heart needs more of. Friday we ended up hanging out with one of the young guys up the road. He really opened up to us and took comfort in my family and our home. Saturday we had a late Easter dinner with my parents, grandma, brother, sister in law and nephew. I got lots of sweet cuddles from my nephew (he's only 7 months old). I even got to be a part of bath time and got lots of time to talk with my brother and sister in law. That did my heart so good. They always have a way of putting things into perspective. Sunday was spent running errands and cleaning house with my hubby. It all made one amazing weekend that I'm ready to do again soon.

I would tell you that the sponsored posts i've been doing lately are the only things keeping my blog a float. If you were curious, i'd tell you how sponsorships work and how they've inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and do things I never thought i'd do; like sharing outfit posts and talks about self confidence.

Lately my head and my heart have been all over the place with the potential of building a new home and our son starting high school next year, i've been a mess. I haven't really felt like myself and it's been showing but I am thankful for my parents and my husband for being my support. My husband is truly the best; sometimes I'm not sure what I did to deserve him but I'm happy I got him.

Because of this my blog and social media have taken a hit, too. I have so many ideas that I'd like to put into motion but no motivation to do them. I've been living in a bubble of my own, searching for motivation. The other day when I was in a really down mood I begrudgingly went to Target for a few things we needed and a book caught my eye; It's called Note to Self by Connor Franta. It's basically a blog within a book that is so raw and real it is inspiring. I picked it up and knew I had to have it so I bought it and spent a couple days on the porch just reading. It inspired me, not only to get back to blogging but also so to live a real, authentic, raw life so expect to see more heart moments and rawness from me. I'm also ready to take the jump and open an Etsy shop, start a Facebook group for bloggers, and possibly even start writing my own book like Note To Self.

I'd also tell you that since giving up sugar last month, it either tastes really good or really bad when I eat it now. Cake at a baby shower I attended was entirely too sweet for me and it wasn't the cake's fault. I kind of celebrate it as a win though because it means i'm really doing good at making some lifestyle and eating habit changes.

Since Spring Break is over, i'm officially done with this school year. I wish I could keep my son home starting now and enjoy sleeping in, long summer days outside by the pool, and doing nothing but relaxing.

Today starts another amazing campaign with the always sweet Ashley from The Imperfect Boss. If you don't know Ashley, you should run and join her group now! I love her sweet spirit. She's the ultimate girl boss, always cheering for everyone else, shining her light and inspiring everyone she meets. She's a doll, y'all and a real life blessing. Stay tuned to see more about this campaign. I'm excited to be a part of it and help her inspire and cheer other girl bosses on.

Last week I had the priviledge of being featured on my sweet friend, Mistle's, blog Blogger Bliss. It was truly one of my favorite posts ever. I love doing guest posts because I feel like I can pour so much heart into them. This has made me smile all week. I can not thank Mistle enough for allowing me to be a part of this series she's starting. Stay turned for more from her.

If we were on a coffee date, what would you share with me?

Self Care Routine with Vitabath

*This is not an affiliate link. I received free products in exchange for this post.
All thoughts are my own.*

This week has been one of those trying weeks for me. As soon as my eyes open in the morning I begin thinking of all the things that are bringing me stress. I'm filled with worry and anxiety and because of this I feel frazzled and at a loss for concentration. I feel like i've hit a wall. Give me all the sweat pants and naps. But instead of breaking down and staying in this little funk of a place i've been in i'm learning how to unwind and de-stress in order for a clearer mind and better health; both physically and mentally.

I start the morning off by laying in bed and quietly praying to God. I pray for the safety of my loved ones and I pray for him to show me the way to deal with the things on my heart. I pray to become the person he wants me to be.

Once I get up I throw on some sweats and a tee, I brush my teeth, throw my hair in a bun and put my wedding set on then I stop by my son's room to begin waking him up (he's a heavy sleeper just like his mama). Next I go downstairs and start making my son's lunch and my coffee in the quietness of the morning.

While my son showers I always read my She Reads Truth daily devotional while i'm drinking my coffee. It always gives me a sense of calm in the morning.

After I take my son to school, I come home and shower with some of my favorite products including Vitabath's body wash. They were so kind to send me a package filled with body washes that smell amazing and are super hydrating because they are loaded with vitamin benefits and natural oils and best of all, they're non-irritant.

I like to pick a scent of the day so there are no less than 20 products in my shower. My favorite is the Vanilla Bourbon. Somedays I feel the need for a little stress relief so the Spearmint and Thyme is what I grab. No matter what scent you pick you can't go wrong.

I love to do my hair and make up, too even if i'm only going to be home cleaning house and blogging because it always gives me a little boost and makes me feel so much better. Plus, who doesn't like feeling pretty?

After I do all that, I like to make out a "to do" list for the day. Starting my day by writing out everything that I need to get done and what's on my mind really sets the tone of the day. I'm a huge believer in getting things out of my head that's why I like to do a brain dump, too. A brain dump is where you write down everything on your mind. It can be such a relief to just clear your mind of clutter. Some of the things on the brain dump might be significant, others might just be enough to write them down and forget them.

Then I do a little housework and dinner preparation. Anyone who has a home occupied by people knows this is a never ending job. If you know how to keep a house clean for more than 10 minutes you are my hero and I need your tips.

After that I like to sit outside in the sunshine with an inspirational book or my lap top and read blog posts from other fellow bloggers. I'm learning to disconnect from all electronics for a while and just soak up all the sunshine and life around me.

After I get my son from school, we play outside at my parent's house for a couple hours, come home, cook dinner, clean some more then it's family time followed by time to relax before bed. Which sometimes means a bubble bath with my favorite Vitabath products.

If you are in need of wonderful products that smell good and are good to your skin then run to Vitabath's website. Vitabath is also sold at Ulta, CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens as well as other various boutiques and pharmacies.

Do you un-wind with Vitabath? What's your favorite product?

10 Minutes

*Sometimes life happens. Inspiration just isn't there and I simply feel overwhelmed. I've been feeling this way lately. I can't seem to find the focus to get the words out so I sat down with my lap top the other day and set a timer for 10 minutes. The words below are what came of that. They may not make sense to anyone else but that's okay. My hope is to inspire you when you feel un-inspired and overwhelmed. Sit down, write the words. Everything may be messy but that's the beauty in it. The words, the heart, the hair-it's all messy and that's okay. There's beauty in the mess. Embrace it.*

I'm a huge believer in taking time to take care of yourself. I hear women often say "I just don't have the time to take care of myself" and it makes me want to grab them and run to the nearest nail salon for mani/pedis then stop off at a coffee shop on the way home to enjoy some coffee and conversation. It's not that we don't have the time, it's that we don't make the time. Maybe it sounds silly to write "Me time" on our calendars but it's something that is necessary because how can you take care of anyone else if you are ragged and worn out? In order to do anything efficently you have to be in the best shape; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually that you can.

We all wear many hats; we're chaueffeurs, cooks, nurses, cheerleaders-you name it, we do it and sometimes it gets exhausting. I know. I've been there many times and lately i've been there again. It's not that life isn't great, mine is honestly the best it's ever been. I'm married to my best friend, we have an amazing son, a sweet pup, a cozy home, groceries in our kitchen, air conditioning, running water. You name it, it's covered. Lately though i've been feeling a bit overwhelmed and it really has nothing to do with the things going on in my life but rather, the things that are in my mind. See, we're in the midst of building a home and our son will be starting high school next year. Those things give me anxiety, I won't lie but I still don't feel like that's to blame for my feelings lately. I feel detached. I feel un-inspired and i've been trying to figure out why then it came to me; i'm not taking care of my mind.

I'm great at taking "me time" but i'm not great at using that "me time" to empty my mind or even stop for a few minutes and let thoughts process. I feel like I have 3,000 tabs open in my brain at any given time. "What weekend did my husband say he has to work?" "Do I have everything in order for Dylan for high school?" "Did I e-mail the builder everything I needed to?" "Blog posts. Oh yeah, gotta work on blog posts." "Did I send so and so an e-mail back?" "Is everyone participating in my Birthday Cheer gift swap?" "Who has a birthday coming up?"
"What do I need to do for dinner tonight?" "Are all Alex's work clothes ironed?"

I haven't spent enough time getting prepared for this week so it's been exceptionally bad. I didn't make a meal plan. I didn't write my posts in my planner. I didn't add anything to my planner so when I start to think of all these things I get overwhelmed and plain exhausted. I'm not sure when it happened, or why we all feel the need to be June Cleaver meets Wonder Woman but it's not fulfilling and it certainly isn't helping anyone. So today I begrudginly went to Target (that's painful to even say) to grab toilet paper and a few other necessities that I over looked on yesterday's grocery shopping trip because without toilet paper, we'd be knocking on the neighbors door. And this morning I made a meal plan so there's no more waking up at 3 a.m. wondering what I should make for dinner that day. Yes, that's a true story.

Moral of the story, taking "me time" means so much more than running a bath with a bath bomb and a face mask or treating yourself to your favorite Starbucks drink. "Me Time" means taking care of your mind and soul, too. I started reading a book today that caught my eye at Target. I picked it up, flipped through it, sat it down, walked away and came back to it two more times before something in me said "put the lipstick back and buy the book." It's all about budgeting these days, y'all so I did what my heart (or maybe my mind) said to do and bought the book. It's a good for your soul kinda book. It inspires me and i've only read the intro. My mind needed this much more than it needed another lipstick. I need to clear my mind and focus on peace and happiness from within.

Do you practice taking care of your mind? If not, i'll share with you some of the ways i'm learning to. Read an inspiring book. Meditate, pray or do yoga. Make a fairy garden. Put together a gift basket for someone. Start an inspiration journal. Turn off the tv and listen to inspirational music. Listen to a podcast and be fully present, take notes. Grab a girlfriend for a coffee date. Lay out in the grass and watch the clouds go by. Whatever you do, take care of yourself; mind, body, soul and mind.

Summer Skin Care with Coola

*This is not an affiliate link. I received free products in exchange for this post.
All thoughts are my own.*

Summertime is upon us. All sunshine all the time makes my heart happy. We spend so much time outdoors in the summer, especially at my parent's pool, so protection from the sun is super important to me for my family. When I received some products from Coola I was excited to learn that over 70% of their ingredients are made from only the freshest, most natural ingredients.

Coola is American made; based out of San Diego, California. Their products are made with sun science technology which means they are always changing. Instead of putting out a sunscreen and never changing their formula, they are always researching and developing new products. Because of this their products are limited. I love that this sun care line is ever changing to help protect me and my family from those harmful UVAs and other harmful pollutants. Another thing I love about this brand is that their sunscreens smell like a tropical paradise with flavors such as Mango, Pina Colada and Citrus Mimosa. There's even a scent free option if you prefer that. Coola has a fan for life with me!

Here's what I got in my Coola box.

Classic Sport SPF 50 Mango Moisturizer

This product is a dream come true for all of us ladies because it doubles as an anti-aging defense, too. It smells good, is SPF 50, protects against sun damage, balances skin tone and defends against anti aging. It's also water resistant for up to 80 minutes and made Farm To Face. This is a no brainer. I put it on my face before I put on my make up on days when I know i'll be outside a lot.

Mineral Liplux SPF 30 Nude Beach

When it comes to SPF lip care, Coola has you covered in their variety of summery colors that add a hint of color while protecting your lips. This is another one of those multi-tasking products because it helps with thinning, aging skin and protects against the sun. Made with 70% natural ingredients; Cupuacu Butter and Mongongo Oil and zinc oxide, it is also water resistant up to 80 minutes. I apply this under my lipstick on those days when i'm busy soaking up the sun and don't have to worry about getting burned lips.

ER Fresh Relief Face Serum

This product has become one of my holy grail products because it repairs a multitude of flaws caused my the environment. It's an anti-inflammatory moisturizer that nourishes damaged skin while protecting it from other harmful pollutants and sun. When I think about skin care, I don't think about the things in the environment that harm my skin. I always think dirt and make up but pollutants go far beyond that and this product cleans and protects from all of that. If I could only grab one skin care product to take with me to a deserted island this would be it. I use it on my face every night after I wash my face and every morning before I put on make up. It's the kind of product that younger me would have never looked at but me now will never live without it. If you are considering buying only one Coola product, let this be the one. I promise you won't regret it.

If you don't have a summer skin care routine then run to Coola and grab a couple things to throw in your beach bag.

What are your favorite products for getting your skin summer ready?

Formula 10.0.6

*This is not an affiliate link. I received free products in exchange for this post. All thoughts are my own.*

I'm obsessed with skin care, that's no secret so when a box of Formula 10.0.6. products showed up at my front door I was beyond ecstatic. The box was packed full of colorful skin care bottles that made me want to take my make up off immediately and start washing my face.

I'll admit that with sensitive skin i'm always a little iffy about new products but their products are made with all natural, fresh ingredients and i'm happy to say that they are so gentle on my skin. I've had absolutely no issues at all and i've become a fan for life.

Be Berry Ready
So Totally Clean Micellar Water
Best Face Forward

Be Berry Ready Daily Foaming Cleanser
Blackberry + Coconut Milk
The Blackberry hydrates and detoxifies while the Coconut Milk cleanses and soothes skin making this the perfect cleanser for everyday use. It leaves your skin feeling soft, clean, and youthful.

So Totally Clean Micellar Water
This is so gentle on sensitive skin with it's ingredients such as cucumber, sea kelp, and chamomile.
Cucumber is soothing and cooling while Sea Kelp detoxifies and cleans your skin of impurities. Chamomile has a multitude of purposes, including reducing dark circles and moisturizing. They come together to make one amazing powerhouse of product. Micellar water is amazing for taking off your make up and taking care of those stubborn, clogged pores.

It's gentle enough to use around your eyes, making it my "go to" make up remover and face cleanser. It usually takes me a couple cotton balls to get my face totally make up free but it's the number one step to having fresh feeling, clean, glowing skin. Micellar water is part of my nightly routine for this reason. It's also great to use on a q-tip if you make a mistake while applying your make up. Simply wipe the q-tip across the flaw, re-apply your make up and you're good to go.

Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Face Cleanser
Passionfruit + Green Tea
This foaming face cleanser is perfect for cleaning those facials oils away and leaving your face feeling refreshed, clean, and glowing.

A little something I learned about the ingredients in this product is that Passionfruit and Green Tea are like the Sprinkles and Frosting of skin care. Passionfruit reduces oiliness while Green Tea exfoliates and soothes. Making this product a dream come true.

This one lives in my shower for daily morning use. I love beginning with a fresh, glowing face and it makes my make up go on smoother.

Pores Be Pure Skin Clarifying Mud Mask
Be Berry Bright Exfoliating Mud Mask
Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask

Pores Be Pure Skin Clarifying Mud Mask
Strawberry + Yarrow
This mud mask goes to work un-clogging pores, correcting a multitude of complexion problems. Strawberry and Rosemary eliminates impurities caused by pollutants and products while Yarrow clarifies skin and helps brighten dull complexion.

This one is my favorite of all the Mud Masks simply because I feel like my pores are one of my beauty flaws so anything I can get to help my pores is a winner. I also love the light strawberry scent. Formula 10.0.6's Mud Masks smell nothing like mud (and trust me, I've had other products that smelled like mud so bad that I just threw them away.)

Be Berry Bright Exfoliating Mud Mask
Goji Berry + Green Coffee
Goji Berries are great antioxidants while Green Coffee Beans gently exfoliate. This little tube packs a 3 in 1 punch because it exfoliates, cleanses and washes away impurities. It is also great for promoting even skin tone (goodbye redness!) and reduces free radicals.

If you had to get any one Formula 10.0.6 product I would say this would be it. Although, once you try one product you'll want them all but this 3 in 1 really had you covered.

Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask
Orange+Bergamont
Orange, Bergamot and Sea Salt work together to detoxify and diminish impurities in the skin. It really gets down deep and gets rid of impurities and toxins, making your skin clearer and brighter. Orange recharges, Sea Salt cleanses and Bergamont balances the skin making this product another power house.

What I love about all the Mud Masks is that they each serve a purpose. One is for Clarifying, one for Exfoliating and one is Ultra-Cleansing. Making them a perfect combination to use regularly to curse a whole host of skin flaws.

Be Berry Clear Illuminating Peel Mask
Get Your Glow On Peel Mask

Peel Masks might just be one of my favorite things in the history of beauty products. It's so gross to peel them off your skin and see the dirt that comes with them but at the same time, I find them oddly enjoyable because I can see how clean my skin is getting.

Like the Mud Masks, each of the Peel Masks serve a purpose.

Be Berry Clear Illuminating Peel Mask
Raspberry + Acai
Hello bright, glowing skin. Raspberry and Acai deliver a punch of antioxidants to help with flare ups and minimize pores. Two of my big concerns. I get a lot of flare ups this time of year because of pollen and allergies so it's been my "go to" lately but this product soothes and calms those problem areas and it's gentle enough to use around my eyes, where my flare ups happen.

Get Your Glow On Peel Mask
Papaya + Citrus
This peel revitalizes tired, dull skin within minutes to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores and stop breakouts from happening. Papaya resurfaces skin while Citrus boosts brightness.

I have to be honest with y'all, when I got all my products out for this review I realized I haven't even opened this one yet so I can't give you an honest review of it yet and i'm kind of excited. I love all my Formula 10.0.6 products but it's kind of like finding a special treat tucked away.

Franck Provost J'amie My...Shampoo and Conditioner

Franck Provost is a hair care line based out of France that is currently being brought to the United States. It is currently in half of the Ulta stores nation wide.

It repairs damaged and brittle hair. I've been alternating this with my regular shampoo for the last month and can tell you that I am truly excited about this product. I have fine, thin hair but this product does wonders to add volume and bounce to my hair, as well as repair damage. I hope my Ulta sells this because i'll be buying more as soon as my bottles run out.

Natural Skin Care with Moody Sisters

When it comes to skin care and beauty products, obsessed is an understatement but I have to be careful with what products I use because I have sensitive skin. I used to think that the only hypo-allergenic, natural ingredient based products on the market were the ones that made the think of my great grandma. Not that I didn't adore her because I totally did, I just don't want to smell like her (not that she smelled bad but hopefully you get the point). I won't name names because this post isn't about them, it's about one of my new favorite lines, called Moody Sisters.

Moody Sisters was founded by two sisters, Jess and Whitney, who wanted organic skin care for their own families. Their products are all natural; made from oils and other plant derived ingredients.

When I came across an ad for Moody Sisters on Facebook curiosity got the best of me and I'm so glad it did. When I saw they offer 4 free samples for new customers, I jumped on it and haven't looked back since. Their products not only work wonders, they smell fabulous and the packaging is so charming, too. They are a far cry from great grandma's plain ol' skin care products but I still think she's approve.

Nourishing Eye Cream

Raise your hand if you suffer form tired, puffy eyes and dark circles. My hand is raised high! I've had super dark circles under my eyes as long as I can remember from allergies. It's always been one of my beauty "flaws" in my opinion but short of covering them with concealer, I didn't know what to do. I hadn't found a product that actually corrects the problem until this beauty came into my life.

*Back Story* A couple months before my wedding in September 2015 I started having major flare ups under my eyes, to the point where they almost swelled shut a couple times. I was panicked because a) I didn't want it to affect my vision b) I had no idea what the cause was and c) it was two months until my wedding. Vanity reasons? Yes but show me any bride who wants swollen puffy eyes. I wish I had known about this product then. When I found them I truly questioned putting any product near my eyes that I had never heard of before but after seeing that their products were all natural, I felt pretty confident that this product was okay and I was sure glad that I did.

Now that i've tried the Nourishing Eye Cream, I can say that it's a dream come true and it's all because of it's all natural ingredients. Not only does it not irritate my eyes, it also has done wonders to reduce the dark circles under my eyes. I should have taken before and after pictures to show y'all because the results have been that incredible. I've only been using this product for about a month but it'll always have a place in my beauty arsenal and regimen. I apply it daily, after I shower, under my make up and nightly, after I clean my face and it truly is making my skin glow. It even smells amazing, which is another must for me when it comes to beauty products. I've been known to throw products away because they smell awful. This smells so fresh and clean with it's natural ingredients such as sweet orange oil, lemon oil and mango butter.

Ultra Rich Face Cream

Another staple in my beauty arsenal is the Ultra Rich Face Cream. It is made with Aloe Vera and Apricot Kernel Oil. When I was having all the sensitivity problems with my eyes swelling, I started breaking leaves off my aloe plant and using the gel to soothe and calm the irritation then a friend of mine told me about apricot kernel oil so I started alternating that with the aloe. When I saw that this product combined the two I was sold. I was looking for a moisturizer to wear under my make up that was lightweight, too. This product basically took 3 things I was using and combined them into one product and it smells really good.

I use it everyday under my make up because it absorbs into my skin really fast and leaves my feeling hydrated and my skin is glowing. You can apply make up with in minutes of putting it on. It's the perfect product for transitioning from dry, dull winter skin to bright, glowing, refreshed skin for spring. Make this part of your daily routine, you won't be sorry. I promise.

Rejuvenating Facial Scrub {Blueberry Lime}

Umm, hello new love of mine. This product makes me excited to clean my face every night. At least every night that I use it. I try to keep the scrubs to a minimal because they can be a bit abrasive if used too much so I try to do mine every three nights but I really could use this one every night. It smells like blueberry muffins, y'all. I think that's what makes it my number one favorite product. The benefits are still equally as awesome as the other products but that smell of blueberry and limes makes it a dream. I really want to run to the kitchen and bake a fresh batch of muffins all the time. Even on the days I don't use this product, I still pick it up and smell it. Maybe that's weird to say about a beauty product but you'll just have to trust me, at least until your very own shows up on your doorstep.

Aside from the smell it has amazing ingredients; organic coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower seed oil and blueberry fruit fibers and it brightens and rejuvenates that tired, dry, dull skin too.

Pore Refining Facial Scrub {Cucumber Mint}

Pores are my nemesis. Anyone else? I feel like the pores on my face are huge. They probably aren't as bad as I think they are but I definitely feel that way and i'm always looking for products that will help with that. Enter my dream product. I'll admit that this one doesn't get used as much as the blueberry one because blueberries but this one truly is amazing with improving my skin's texture and tone. It tightens it up and makes my skin feel so refreshed. Goodbye pores. Hello beautiful, youthful skin.

Again, the all natural ingredients make this an amazing product. Made with Vitamin E, Witch Hazel Extract, and Peppermint, Rosemary, Tangerine and Sweet Orange oils. This cleansing and exfoliating scrub doesn't disappoint.
