Coffee Chat + Goals
Monday, August 28, 2017
Happy Monday, Dolls. Monday has such a bad rep, don't you think? After all, it's the day that forces us to get off our cozy spots on the couch and trade sweats and pajamas for real clothes. It's the day that makes us trade endless Netflix binges for work and turn our alarms back on. It's always been my least favorite day of the week, too but I'm on a mission to make Mondays loved so throw your hair in a messy bun, grab your favorite mug of coffee and get ready for a coffee date.
Coffee Chat
Monday, April 24, 2017
Happy Monday Loves. I know, Mondays are no fun but I think Mondays would be so much better if we started the day off with coffee and a girlfriend or two. So won't you join me for a coffee date this morning?
If you and I were on a coffee date i'd be drinking a White Chocolate Mocha and eating a French Cruller Donut. They're so light and fluffy; they're definitely my favorites. I'd ask you how you've been and what's new in your life? I love pictures so i'd happily look at any pictures you have of your kids, pets and anything else that is important, beautiful and inspiring to you. I'd show you a few of my family and life lately.
I'd tell you that weekends like the one we just had are the kind that my heart needs more of. Friday we ended up hanging out with one of the young guys up the road. He really opened up to us and took comfort in my family and our home. Saturday we had a late Easter dinner with my parents, grandma, brother, sister in law and nephew. I got lots of sweet cuddles from my nephew (he's only 7 months old). I even got to be a part of bath time and got lots of time to talk with my brother and sister in law. That did my heart so good. They always have a way of putting things into perspective. Sunday was spent running errands and cleaning house with my hubby. It all made one amazing weekend that I'm ready to do again soon.
I would tell you that the sponsored posts i've been doing lately are the only things keeping my blog a float. If you were curious, i'd tell you how sponsorships work and how they've inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and do things I never thought i'd do; like sharing outfit posts and talks about self confidence.
Lately my head and my heart have been all over the place with the potential of building a new home and our son starting high school next year, i've been a mess. I haven't really felt like myself and it's been showing but I am thankful for my parents and my husband for being my support. My husband is truly the best; sometimes I'm not sure what I did to deserve him but I'm happy I got him.
Because of this my blog and social media have taken a hit, too. I have so many ideas that I'd like to put into motion but no motivation to do them. I've been living in a bubble of my own, searching for motivation. The other day when I was in a really down mood I begrudgingly went to Target for a few things we needed and a book caught my eye; It's called Note to Self by Connor Franta. It's basically a blog within a book that is so raw and real it is inspiring. I picked it up and knew I had to have it so I bought it and spent a couple days on the porch just reading. It inspired me, not only to get back to blogging but also so to live a real, authentic, raw life so expect to see more heart moments and rawness from me. I'm also ready to take the jump and open an Etsy shop, start a Facebook group for bloggers, and possibly even start writing my own book like Note To Self.
I'd also tell you that since giving up sugar last month, it either tastes really good or really bad when I eat it now. Cake at a baby shower I attended was entirely too sweet for me and it wasn't the cake's fault. I kind of celebrate it as a win though because it means i'm really doing good at making some lifestyle and eating habit changes.
Since Spring Break is over, i'm officially done with this school year. I wish I could keep my son home starting now and enjoy sleeping in, long summer days outside by the pool, and doing nothing but relaxing.
Today starts another amazing campaign with the always sweet Ashley from The Imperfect Boss. If you don't know Ashley, you should run and join her group now! I love her sweet spirit. She's the ultimate girl boss, always cheering for everyone else, shining her light and inspiring everyone she meets. She's a doll, y'all and a real life blessing. Stay tuned to see more about this campaign. I'm excited to be a part of it and help her inspire and cheer other girl bosses on.
Last week I had the priviledge of being featured on my sweet friend, Mistle's, blog Blogger Bliss. It was truly one of my favorite posts ever. I love doing guest posts because I feel like I can pour so much heart into them. This has made me smile all week. I can not thank Mistle enough for allowing me to be a part of this series she's starting. Stay turned for more from her.

Coffee Date
Monday, December 12, 2016
Hi Peachies. Happy Monday. I hope you are all well rested and ready to take on the week. It's getting so close to Christmas and I need some girl time and a coffee date so let's get cozy with our favorite mug of coffee and have a virtual coffee date.

Are you cozy now?
If you & I were on a coffee date right now...
I'd tell you...
+ I go between being so excited about Christmas and super anxious because I don't have enough done. Christmas as an adult is hard because there is so much hard work that goes into it but I have to stop myself to remember what it's all about and put everything in to perspective.
+ I'm obsessed with Gilmore Girls now. I never watched it before but I started binge watching it last Friday. Now I want to live in Stars Hollow and be friends with Lorelai and Rory.
+ I haven't made any December goals because I need to take the month to just enjoy the season. I want to soak in every minute and create memories. January is for fresh starts and goal setting, right?December is for having fun and enjoying togetherness.
+ Speaking of enjoying the season; I need to focus more on enjoying the season of my life, where i'm at right now. I'm so ready for what's next. I want to have another baby and build our dream home with my husband but none of that is happening at the speed I'd like. I think it's because God wants me to be happy with where i'm at right now. This season of life is preparing us for what's next.
+ I really want to start having someone else take photos for my blog. The selfie stick is fine and all but there are only so many angles you can get with that.
+ Saturdays and Sundays at home are my favorites. I've been cleaning house and writing an entire week's worth of blog posts in just two days.I feel like a real girl boss and love it!
+ One of my favorite things in the entire world is the soft glow of Christmas lights. I wish I could keep them up all year long.
+ Sometimes I go through spells where I just want to be an introvert, that's where i've been lately. I don't like leaving the house or socializing. One of my favorite Marilyn Monroe quotes is "I restore myself when i'm alone." It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with me, it just means I need to take care of me and this is how I do it.
+ I want to be more intentional with my girlfriends in 2017. I want to have lunch dates/coffee dates/mani+pedi dates with my real life girlfriends at least once a month. I'm such a homebody & I like it but I'm really missing my girlfriends.
+ I've never been a morning person at all but lately I find myself so filled with excitement at all the things I have going on and all the things I want to do that I've become a morning person and I love it. There's something so peaceful about starting the day on the couch, snuggled in a blanket with a cup of coffee in my hand, reading my daily devotional that just makes me happy.
+ 2017 is going to be all about being intentional and healthy. Yoga, healthy eating and getting more active are all things I need to focus on.
+ Speaking of 2017, I know it's going to be a big year for us and I'm a bit nervous about it. We'll be building our dream home and our son will be entering high school. Even now, the anxiety of it all gets me. I even find myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it then I decide that worrying at 3 a.m. accomplishes nothing so I pray, give it to God and go back to sleep.
+ It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Even now, i'm not sure what i'll do once i'm done raising babies but for now, I can tell you that this blogging thing just feels right. I love the community that i've found through blogging. I've enjoyed engaging with my blogging tribe through Facebook and Instagram so much lately. They're all such sweet, supportive ladies. It's like having a group of cheerleaders in the game of life. I love that i've made some really amazing friends and i'm constantly learning something new. Now that i've added an affiliate i'm learning how to monetize and that's pretty incredible. When I started my blog, it was just as a hobby, I had no idea that I could make money off of it or even make friends from it.
+ It looks so snowy today but there's no change of snow in the forecast (or so they say) but the great Snowpocalypse of 2014 started the same way. Newscasters were saying there would be no snow until later then suddenly the sky opened up and snow fell and everything began to freeze. My husband (fiancee at the time) was stuck in I-285 for 21 hours and my son and had an adventure of our own going from school to my parents house. The normally 10 minute drive took us 6 hours. So, while i'm hoping for snow, I am not hoping for any of that mess again.
If we were on a coffee date, what would you tell me?
Tuesday Morning Coffee Talk
Tuesday, August 16, 2016
Happy Tuesday Peachies! So this blog post is titled Tuesday Morning Coffee Talk but humor me for a minute because morning will be long gone by the time I get this posted. I'm on the struggle bus big time today but it's okay because i'm practicing grace upon grace while i'm cozy on the couch, watching one of my guilty pleasures,Bachelor in Paradise.
A couple weeks ago I did this Monday Morning Coffee Talk post. Today i'm inspired to share more.
I'm wanting to set up a LIKEtoKNOW.it account and start sharing outfit inspired posts.
Last week my son wanted to cook a Japanese rice balls dish.
I suggested we make this Orange Chicken to go with it.
He did all the cooking, minus the frying the chicken. I can tell you that it was a hit plus I am super proud of my son for cooking such an amazing meal.
I'm still crushing on this outfit.
I'm thinking these sugar cookie bars need to be made like now.
Trying to start a creative business.
Loving this stain Revlon Color Stay in Fuschia.
Wanting to learn how to do this twisted crown.
Just bought this and this at CVS.
Waiting on this to be delivered because who can say no to blush and rose?
Crushing on these things: Yes Way Rose Wine Glass, Gizelle Sun Glasses and Aria Beaded Drop Earrings
Thinking I need this Fuschia Maxi Dress.
What's going on with you currently?
What are you loving? Crushing on? Wanting?
If We Were On a Coffee Date
Thursday, July 7, 2016
Hello Beautiful Peachies! I feel like I haven't blogged in an eternity. Really it's only been a week but during that week I was busy enjoying time with my family that lives in Illinois and travels down to Georgia every summer to spend a week with us. I enjoyed taking a break from social media and spending time laughing, loving, crafting, eating, and making memories with them. During that week July rolled in and really swept me off my feet. I mean, wasn't it just January?
Since July is here, it's time for me to share my goals for the month but first I want to recap my week with my family. So I hope you're snuggled in with a cup of coffee. If not, i'll wait while you go grab one.
If You & I were on a coffee date right now...
i'd tell you...
+ As much as I missed all you wonderful ladies in the blogging community it was nice to have a small break and just enjoy time with family.
+ My hubby had three days off last week and Monday of this week off, too. I soaked up every second of it.
+ I really enjoyed my talks with my Aunt last week. It was refreshing to really be able to sit down and spend quality time together.
I feel like it brought us even closer together. I even cried when I hugged her good-bye, which is something I haven't done in a while.
+ After last week I feel inspired for a blog change & I even have a new creative venture in the works.
+ I really want to up my Instagram game, too.
+ I miss doing yoga. I think it's time to start working out again.
+ Last night's dinner was so amazing yet so simple.
Rotisserie chicken, asian salad and Hawaiian pasta salad.
I feel like my body needs a detox from all the amazing food we ate last week.
+ I feel like fixing my hair and make up in the summer is a waste of time because i'm either going to sweat it off the minute I step outside. Georgia humidity isn't a joke, y'all! Or it's going to rain and well, there it goes. Because of this I have a new summer hair and make up routine and all of it together is under $30. I'll share that soon.
+ Speaking of rain. It's been storming like crazy here for the last two days & i'm loving it. Usually I'm not crazy about the rain but I don't have anywhere to go and I need to get my house clean so that's the perfect excuse! Right now it's rainy and I have three of our four sweet pups at my house with me. (Long Story short-three of our dogs are actually my parent's dogs but they get to come stay with us sometimes so two of them are visiting right now.)
+ I've been trying to read Amy Poehler's Yes Please since my honeymoon last September. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I don't have time to read. I'm determined to finish it this month.
+ I'd show you pictures from last week on my phone.
+ I'd tell you that I already have anxiety about sending my son to school this year. It probably has everything to do with the hot mess someone else's immaturity landed us in last year when we were reported for being out of district. It's okay though, jealousy is an ugly thing and we'll continue to rise above. But really, can't we just have eternal summer?
+ I'm also having anxiety about building our dream house. It's going to be our forever home, which excites me but right now we stand in the midst of a whole bunch of unknowns and I'm not fond of that. I'm just ready for construction to begin.
+ I'd ask you if you've seen my Pinterest board Dream Casa
These are my future house goals.
+I'd tell you that I can't get enough of Eric Church's Record Year or Dierks Bentley's Black and how Meghan Trainor's I Love Me is my jam lately.
+ I'd also tell you about my new creative venture but since we're not really on a coffee date I'm going to leave you hanging. Yeah, that's mean but I can't share until i'm 100% ready. Stay tuned for that though.
If we were on a coffee date what would you share with me?
