2015 Instagram Re-Cap

Hi Peachies! Can you believe that it's almost January? Another year is upon us. With that comes a lot of reflecting on the year we just left behind. 2015 was an amazing year for me. In fact, i'd say it was the best year since my son was born in 2003. I'm sure you know why by now, if not...keep scrolling.

We're going to dive right in here.

We celebrated Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day to the two men who mean the most to me. My Dad is the most kind hearted, loving, tough but tender man in the world. I can count on one hand the # of times he's lost his cool. He's never missed out on anything my brothers and I participated. He grinned and beared it through many driving lessons. He's the rock that keeps our family together. He set the bar high when it came to finding a husband and father for my son & I. It was a task that was seemingly impossible until Alex stepped in. He meets and exceeds every expectation I ever had. I'll be forever grateful for both of these men. My daddy is my first love & hero, that'll never change but as I get married I hope he knows how important he always is to me. Alex is my last greatest love in life (besides our children). He's not taking the place of my dad but sharing it. I 💜 U both more than words.

I was nominated for a Liebster blog award.

I have some exciting news to share! I was nominated by the amazing @allyfiesta for a Liebster Blog Award. It's an award given to bloggers with under 200 followers. Once the nominee accepts they get to nominate up to 10 more bloggers. I thought about the best way to share my nominees & I think this is best! If I tag you, you're one of my 10 ;) if, for any reason you can't accept then please send me an e-mail @ lesliew21282@gmail. Once I hear from everyone i'll have the nominees post live on my blog, along with my acceptance. So, without further ado, here are the fabulous ladies i've nominated. @hallaroundtexas, @theknightsplace, @laureneh7, @nellemonaco, @csandsblog, @thesouthernthing, @lacicarlson, @betsyfick, @lenaridley, @jessiotey03. It was so hard to narrow it down y'all. I really want everyone to nominate everyone.

Dear Mamas

Dear Mamas,
How are you today? I mean really, How are you? Not the typical "I'm fine" response but the "I've got a billion things to do but don't know where to start" response. We've all been there. Some of us are there now, myself included.

Currently my son is in another state with his Mimi & Pa and my husband is at work. I have all day to myself to get everything done that I need and want to but yet I find myself feeling overwhelmed, like time is running out and not a reason in the world to feel this way.
My husband expects nothing of me when he walks in the door except a hug and a kiss & my son won't be home for another day.

The problem is me. I put all the pressure on myself to make everything "perfect" and that's silly because perfect doesn't exist.

Here's My Morning in numbers.

45-Minutes Slept In
1- Cup of Coffee
2-Daily Devotionals
3-Yoga Routines
1-Load of Laundry
2-Beds with Fresh Linens
2-Freshly Dusted Bedrooms
20-Friend in the Sunshine Snail Mail Event
1-Freshly Mopped Kitchen Floor

By most accounts i've gotten a lot done & I see that but to me, it's not enough. I want to get it all done and have time to take care of me and enjoy my hobbies. As I go into 2016 this is what I want to work on. This is my goal. To stop putting off my hobbies and ME time for when I find the time. Time isn't going to present itself in a pretty little package, tied with a bow. I have to make time to enjoy what it is that makes my heart happy. I'm not going to let my everyday, mundane chores control my life anymore. I often tell people that the most important thing is to take care of themselves first because if we aren't our best selves then we can't be the best Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend, for anyone else. I think it's time for me to take my own advice.

2016 is going to be the year I truly take care of myself by allowing myself the down time to enjoy my hobbies, my friends, and my family more because that load of laundry will be there when I get to it but the people on my life, including myself may not be there when I finally "have" time for them.

2016 is the year I let go of the word perfection & my idea of it. It's the year i'm more graceful with myself. More gentle on myself. More loving to me.

Join me in 2016 in letting go of perfection and taking more time for yourself. Be graceful and gentle on yourself. And forgive yourself more.
