October Currently

Hi Peachies! Happy Halloween! I hope you are getting ready to take your littles out for some tricks and treats. My heart is kinda broken because my little is a teenager now and he's not into dressing up and trick or treating. Sad mom here but I am kinda looking forward to hiding out with my hubby and son tonight and not dealing with sugar highs. Sorry. Not sorry. I kinda sound like the Halloween Grinch but I still love this holiday, I'm just living vicariously through all of y'all's pictures of your superheroes and princesses.

Before you run out the door to all your Halloween festivities I want to share my October Currently.

Oh Hey, Friday!

This morning while I was standing in the kitchen having coffee with my husband {a total weekday treat because usually this is a weekend thing. Monday thru Friday he's usually out the door before i'm even out of bed} he said "you know what the best part about Friday is? When I asked what I couldn't help but giggle at his answer. "Saturday" that's what he said. Saturday really is the best thing about Friday, y'all but you know what else is good about Friday? The Oh Hey, Friday! link up with the always adorable Karli from September Farm.

Today's top 5 is all about my favorite things from this week. So happy reading y'all and Happy Friday!

1. Last Saturday my Mom, Grandma and I had a mini girl's day.
We went to my friend's new boutique and did some shopping.
I bought myself two new vests and a new fall shirt.
I wanted to buy all the things but I did good and only picked out three new things.
I'll be doing a blog post about all my latests and greatest finds as soon as I get my last couple packages in the mail.

2. Yesterday my Guys Behind the Blog post went live and I have to say, it's my favorite post i've ever done. I just adore my hubby.

3. I'm such a beauty product junkie. I can't walk into any store without buying them so it's no surprise that I bought a few more this week.
See pic below for my latest buys and which one is hands down my new "go to", "how did I ever live without it?" product.

4. NYX Wonder Pencil is hands down my new favorite beauty buy. Im using it as a reverse lip liner which fills in the ridges and lines in your lips and fights against bleeding and fading. Best of all, it's only $4.50 on the NYX website.

5. This. This is everything. It's my favorite pin of the week because it's seriously the sweetest thing ever written.
I know Johnny & June didn't have a perfect love story but there's so much to learn about love from just this one quote.

Just this morning I was standing in our kitchen around our island drinking coffee with my husband, thinking that this was the best way to start any day and wishing that every day started like that. Usually my husband is out the door before i'm even out of bed so coffee on the weekends has become my favorite because I’ve usually slept in and as soon as my honey hears me stirring he comes and asks me if i’m ready for a cup. He makes it the best and i’m not even sure how (marrying a former barista is a dream come true) and we enjoy our slow mornings, sipping coffee together so it was a special treat this morning.

If you find someone whose company you enjoy so much that you actually look forward to the little moments with them then you've found the one you can spend your life with because life is full of those moments so you might as well enjoy them and laugh a little.

Happy Weekend Loves!

Guys Behind the Blog

Hi Peachies! I am so excited about today's post. It's one I wanted to do forever and I finally have the chance. Today i'm linking up with my sweet friend Crystal from Hall Around Texas for the Guy's Behind the Blog series. I had so much fun interviewing my sweet, handsome hubby for this and I think he had fun, too.

Just read what he asked me at the end and I think you'll see why.

So go grab a cup of cider, coffee or tea and snuggle in with us and read my hubby's Guys Behind the Blog interview.

1.) What was your most favorite Halloween costume and why?
A:When I was a ninja turtle.
Me: Which one?
A: Michaelangelo because he was a party dude.

2.) Haunted Houses - love them or hate them?
I can take them or leave them. They don't scare me.

3.) What is your favorite scary movie of all time?
A: My all time favorite scary movie is the original Night of the Living Dead.
Me: That's not scary
A: Yeah but that's what got me started in the whole zombie genre.

4.) If you had to attend a mandatory dress up Halloween party this year what would you go as?
Myself because i'm that awesome!
{insert heavy sigh and eye rolls from me}

5.) Do you believe in ghosts? Why or why not?
A: Sure, why not?
Me: Then why do you believe in them?
A: There are plenty of un-explained things, aren't there?
A: I also believe in Big Foot.

When we were done he said to me. "that's all? I wanted more questions." Hahaha...this man of mine is silly but I love that he supports my dreams, my goals and my hobbies. I think it's safe to say that he'll be back for next month's Guys Behind the Blog.

Ask your significant other these questions and post their answers in the comments.
I can't wait to their answers.

On Wednesdays We Confess

Happy Wednesday Loves!

I Confess I'm seriously addicted to the new tv show American Housewife.
It's been a long time since I've been hooked on a tv show but this one is it for me. I feel like this is so my life!

I Confess I've been buying new fall clothes but I haven't actually worn them anywhere yet. Ha! #momlife

I Confess All those new clothes have made for awesome #simplystyledoctober outfits for the Instagram Challenge though.
They've also inspired a blog post {coming soon}.

I Confess I love shopping on line. I hate waiting on those purchases to be delivered.

I Confess I actually have a couple posts drafted for November and I'm super excited about that!

I Confess I've been loving taking pictures for Instagram lately.

I Confess I've been really quiet lately. I just needed that time to reflect and get inspired again.
I'll say, it worked because I feel so inspired and full of new ideas.

I Confess having my house clean makes my life so much happier.
I'm weird like that, I guess.

I Confess I'm begging my husband to smoke some more chickens soon.
I'm craving smoked chicken and cranberry salad so bad.

I Confess I've been on a cleaning spree.
I've got a bag of clothes going to a friend and coffee mugs up for grabs.

I Confess I'm trying to adopt the "buy something, get rid of something else" way of living.
I'm trying to be all about simplicity.

I Confess I'm looking forward to seeing all of everyone's Halloween pics.
We aren't doing anything this year and it was my idea but I can live vicariously through everyone else.

I Confess I'm ready to move on to Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
It's my favorite time of year! I love walking down the Christmas aisles of all the stores!!
I puts a big smile on my face!

I Confess I hope you are all having an amazing Wednesday!

Hello Monday

Hello Monday. Hello new possibilities. Hello sunshine. Hello fall weather.

Hello Lovely Peachies. I know i've been pretty quiet lately. I feel like i've had nothing new to say and i've been all out of ideas for the blog lately. I've been in search of new inspiration and really spending a lot of time thinking about what I want to say next. I'm at a place where spending time with loved ones and really pouring my soul into living with intention has been my focus. There's something about this time of year that I love. Maybe it's the holidays that are upon us but I really feel the need to just be still and soak in the moments.

Yesterday my hubby & I were in a frenzy of cleaning when he said "let's go lay in the hammock together." In my frenzied state I could only see goals I had set forth to accomplish and my response was "but I still want to dust the dresser, make lasagna, and an apple pie. Maybe after I'm done with that we can." The words "I wish I could lay around and just be lazy" actually came out of my mouth and I found myself instantly shocked at what I had just said. I get tunnel vision and can only focus on one thing when I get in these moods. Yesterday my one thing was, selfishly, my own goals.

It wasn't long after that we were finishing cleaning our bedroom when I said to my husband "Okay. Let's go lay in the hammock." So we did and I can tell you that it was the best hour of my entire day. We laid out there snuggled together under blankets with the dog running around. There was no tv, no music, just the sounds of nature and cars driving by. My hubby even took a nap and I fought the urge to get up and leave him there so I could get back to my goals. Instead I closed my eyes and I prayed then I enjoyed just being wrapped in my husband's arms, soaking in the moment. I even drifted off to sleep for a minute. Those moments are what my soul needs. Those moments are what it means to live life with intention.

Pslams 46:10 "Be Still and know that I am God" speaks to my heart in that moment because, in that moment, I stilled myself ;mind, body, and soul; and was able to soak in all the little things I would have missed if I hadn't stopped being selfish and continued on with my daily chores. I would have missed the way the cool breeze felt blowing through my hair. I would have missed the sunshine kissing my skin. I would have missed my husband's snuggles and the way his heartbeat puts me at ease when I lay my head on his chest. I would have missed the birds chirping in the trees above us and I would have missed talking to God in that moment.

As we head into a new week I choose to see it full of possibilities and wonder. I choose to make my own happiness and above all else, I choose to live intentionally and take a time out of my own to do list and snuggle with my hubby or play a game with my son. Life is too short to be focused on housework and chores. I am starting this week off with a grateful heart and living more intentionally and that means soaking in the ordinary moments and remembering that no one has ever died from sleeping in an unmade bed.

I am going to show up for the people I love again and again, until I can't show up for them anymore.

What does living intentionally mean to you?
How are you practicing that?

On Wednesdays We Confess

Hi Peachies! Happy Wednesday! I'm hoping y'all are having a wonderful day. I'm sitting on my couch with the windows open, my diffuser going with Relax and Eucalyptus and American Housewife on the tv so it;s safe to say my day is going pretty good. Today happens to also be my favorite blog posting day of the week because it's time for On Wednesdays We Confess with my sweet friend Mistle from Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas.

So let's get ready for some confessions.

I Confess that I'm so sucked into American Housewife right now that I keep telling the dog to "hold on one minute" before I take her out.

I Confess I haven't posted anything since last Wednesday's confession post.

I Confess the blog slump is real but so are the snuggles with my baby nephew so I have no regrets.

I Confess my hubby told me to go shopping for fall clothes. Of course I complied.
Three new shirts & two new pairs of jeans.
Plus new wedge boots and leggings on the way! Thanks Love!

I Confess I am loving everything wine and blush colored for the fall.
In fact, everything I've bought so far for the fall is one of those colors.

I Confess I've heard a lot of great things about the leggings from Simple Addiction
{thanks Chelsie} so I finally ordered some.
They're on sale for $9.95 and I found a code for BOGO on Facebook.
Just enter FREELEG at checkout. I'm stoked!

I Confess as much as I love being out with friends and shopping, I live for days like these.
Doors and windows open, diffusers and candles lit, binge watching tv and cleaning house.

I Confess I'm in a creative slump lately. I haven't even made any jewelry or opened my Etsy shop.
What is wrong with me?

I Confess I've been busy in the kitchen lately and my hubby is loving it.
I even made the dog her own pumpkin treats the other day!

I Confess I'm going to try to cut as much sugar as possible out of my diet because lately something just feels off with my body.
I'm not sure what it is or why but I can totally start by cutting out sugar and junk (except my morning coffee) and seeing if that helps.

I Confess I plan on getting my act together and getting more blog posts out. I want next week to be a full week.

Share with me your confessions.
What do you want to get off your mind?

On Wednesdays We Confess

Happy Wednesday! We're so close to the weekend y'all! It's Friday Eve Eve and I am so ready for the weekend. I'm also excited because it's time for On Wednesdays We Confess with my sweet friend Mistle from Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas.

I Confess it was hard to turn my alarm clock back on last night.
Having a 4 day weekend was so amazing! I love having my kiddo home with me!

I Confess I am in love with this time of year.
Windows open, candles lit, sweaters and leggings-that's my jam!

I Confess I forgot that early mornings are pretty amazing.
The quietness before the world awakens is the best.
So is sitting on the couch with my buddy and our Willow pup,
watching tv and talking before the busyness of our day begins.

I Confess I've never liked pumpkin coffee until this week.
We bought a huge 96 fall variety pack of K-Cups last weekend and it has pumpkin coffee in it.
Before I gave away all, I tried it and I actually like it. I guess I am a basic white girl.

I Confess I can't get enough of the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins I made the other day.
They are my favorite treat this time of year.
You can find the recipe here.

I Confess I am loving that our front porch has become our favorite family hang out spot since we got a wicker set out there.
Even our teenager likes to hang out with us out there.
The other day we were eating dinner outside, our neighbor came over and then our kiddo was playing with his robots with the dog out there.
It was one of those moments I wish I could bottle up and save forever.

I Confess I'm excited for lunch with some of my girlfriends tomorrow.
It's been a goal of mine to have girl time with at least one girlfriend a month this year.
I think I've been successful.

I Confess I'm excited to get my baseball tee from Amazon today so my mom and I can make this shirt.

I Confess I feel super accomplished for creating this mani.

I Confess i'm so excited for the holidays this year. I always love them but this year i'm really excited for them for some reason.

I Confess tomorrow's blog post is a re-share but it's an important one so come back for that!

I Confess cheer mail is my love language.
I love sending it out to my loved ones who need a little boost in their day.
It's such a fun, in-expensive way to let someone know you're thinking of them.
I'd love to start a cheer mail revolution and have everyone spreading love and cheer so join me in sending someone you love a little happiness
then tag me in your post on Instagram

I Confess I need to catch up on October's Instagram Challenge!

So share with me what you are confessing this week.
I'd love to hear.

Coffee Talk

Happy Tuesday Loves! I hope the weekend treated you well and you are all rested up and ready to take on the week.
We had a fun, low key weekend and loved every second of it.

Friday night we went to see my brother, sister in law, and baby nephew. We took them dinner and hung out with them for a few hours, just eating, talking, and loving on baby Luke. It was a wonderful laid back night.

Saturday we realized our son had no fall clothes that fit him and since it's now 60 degrees when we go to school in the mornings he needed jeans. So we took him clothes shopping then we went grocery shopping. It was a whole day of shopping and family togetherness, which is always fun. We ended the day eating chili on the porch and talking to our sweet neighbor while Dylan played with his robots with the dog. Fun times. We're a bunch of partiers around here y'all!

Sunday the weather was gorgeous. It was very fall and sunny. Too pretty to sit inside all day. I spent my morning making 3 dozen donut and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins then we decided to take our Willow girl to my mom and dad's where we could sit around outside and let her run with my mom and dad's dogs. We ended our night again, by sitting on the porch eating homemade chicken noodle soup and talking to our sweet neighbor. Our weekend was so relaxing and full of time with the ones we love. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I feel so relaxed and ready to take on the week now.

It's been a long while since i've done my Morning Coffee Talk but here I am today to talk about whatever randomness my heart desires so go grab a cup of coffee and get cozy with me.

The presidential debates. Heavens help us. I'm so ready for November to come along so that all this will be over. That's not to say that I don't care about the future of our country. I do. I'm just tired of all the tearing each other down over it. I will never say who I'm voting for nor will I ever make the threat "If you're voting for ____ then i'm done being friends with you." I'm not saying one candidate is right and the other is wrong and I will not sink to the level of narrow mindedness of losing friends over this. Difference of opinions is what makes the world go round, just stop trying to conform everyone to your ideas and respect everyone's opinions. Not just those who agree with you.

Illusion of Choice I came across this infographic on Facebook the other day and found it very interesting. I thought it was so amazing how about 10 big name brands are in control of hundreds of other smaller brands. I'm blown away and fascinated by this.

psychology behind color choice also fascinated me.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins are my weakness. I only make them this time of year but they get made often. They are so moist and mouth watering good! I made a batch yesterday (12 and 1/2 dozen) and have shared them with my parents, my grandma, our neighbor and my in laws. Everyone has raved about how good they are and we're not really big pumpkin fans around here so if you only make one pumpkin recipe this year, let this be the one.

Leggings season is here and i'm in desperate need of new leggings. I'm dying over these LuLaRoe
Holiday Reindeer leggings. Actually i'm just dying over LulaRoe Leggings in general.

This wreath has inspired me to make my own. My hubby actually has made me the wreath now we're just trying to find succulents to put on it. I'm thinking about going with faux succulents so that the wreath will last longer.

I'm trying to re-vive my Recipe Swap on Facebook. If y'all want to join then send me a request and a message letting me know how you found me. We're all about sharing recipes here so stop by and find something yummy to cook tonight and leave your favorite recipes, too!

Yesterday my mom and I got crafty with her Cricut and made me the cutest Halloween design for a shirt. It's similar to this.

While i'm typing this post i'm also creating my own version of this glittery nail manicure. Look on my Instagram for the completed look.

If you love sassy southern girls and music as much as I do then check out this new artist I just found on Spotify. Aubrie Sellers

Have a Happy Tuesday and leave me a link to something you love right now.

Life Lately

Hi Loves! Happy Thursday. I can't believe that this week is so close to being done. Bring on the weekend! I'm so ready for snuggles and lots of down time. Oh! And getting to see my sweet baby nephew, Luke along with my brother and sister in law. It's not been a bad week by any means but last week my hubby took the entire week off for our first anniversary and I definitely got used to that. I've been wishing he was home with me every day this week. To cure my blues I took myself to Target the other day because we needed toilet paper and everyone knows that Target is the place for all your essentials and to cure yourself of the blues. It worked.

I ended up making a sweet little {in-expensive} gift basket for my sweet friend and neighbor who was having an icky day herself. That cheered me up more than buying anything for myself because anyone who knows me knows that my love language is giving gift baskets. I love buying a basket and filling it to the brim with goodies and delivering them to someone who needs a little cheer in their day. More on that in a few minutes.

Let's get back to our anniversary week. Our first anniversary was on a Monday and my super sweet hubby surprised me by taking the entire week off work. That's something he never gets to do, in fact, he hasn't since our wedding and honeymoon last year so it was a sweet surprise. He made plans to take me to dinner somewhere I'd never been before, The Melting Pot. It was a cozy, romantic fondue restaurant where he planned the works for us. We had an amazing 4 course meal, champagne and he even got me roses! It was definitely my favorite date in the history of dates. Our kiddo spent the night away that night so we could come home and have the house to ourselves. When we came home we did the traditional eating of the wedding cake a year later thing and laughed hysterically at each other's reactions. Maybe it's not all cakes in general but our pina colada cake did not hold up well after a year in the freezer. {Note to future brides-don't do anything to eclectic to the top layer of your wedding cake if you are going to go by traditions.}

The rest of the week was spent just hanging out at home together and enjoying some down time. We did go to our 5 acres one day and spent the day out there. My hubby even made me a beautiful new wreath for our front door from some of the vines that were growing on the property. We also explored our barn some more and found the coolest old ladder that I can't wait to take out of there and do something fun with once we build our new house. It was a fun, relaxing day in the woods and it was super quiet which made me even more excited to move out there.

I realize that we are probably the most boring 30 something year olds ever but we were quiet happy spending our week doing nothing but just enjoying being together. It was a nice change of pace from our usual everyday. I did squeeze in some blog posts last week. I was actually more prepared for that than I ever have been before. I think my hubby needs to take more time off so I can get more blog work done.

This week it's just been me trying to get back to the daily grind of life. I've had to run a couple errands but nothing big. I just can't get back into the groove of things. Mostly i've been enjoying this fall weather with my windows open and candles lit while I binge watch tv, catch up on laundry, and cook pretty amazing meals-if I do say so myself {I do}. I did mention that I made my neighbor a sweet little cheer up basket.

Want to see that?

So cute, right?

I'll also leave you with some pics from last week.

Waiting on our boy to get out of school. #lesliessparkofhappiness #tuesdayselfie

What have you been up to lately?

On Wednesdays We Confess

Hi Loves! Happy Wednesday. Can you believe it's October already? September flew by in a heartbeat.
I'll do an up-date post soon about what's been going on with me lately but today it's all about confessions with my sweet friend Mistle from Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas.

Can you believe it's been over a month since my last confessions post?

I Confess i'm in a blogging slump after Blogtember. It was so easy to have prompts to write about the entire month. Now i'm at a loss.

I Confess i've gained every bit of weight back that I lost for my wedding last year. It's time to fight back and get myself back into shape now.

I Confess that this fall weather has me seriously swooning! I'm loving life with my windows open all day every day.

I Confess that fall is my favorite time of year to be in the kitchen cooking. My husband is happy with that.
However, we need to start eating healthier so if you have any healthy recipes send 'em my way.

I Confess I got spoiled having my husband home all week last week. The struggle is real this week.

I Confess I saw an old friend from high school yesterday and we picked up right where we left off. That made my heart happy.

I Confess I have about 5 un-answered texts from yesterday that I need to respond to still.

I Confess I need to get out and walk but i'm a little scared of all the clowns rumored to be hanging around.

I Confess i'm in need of some sunshine time on my front porch today.

I Confess i'm in love with the Bubble & Charm line from Target. I just got the Poppies & Posies lotion yesterday. It smells amazing.

I Confess i'm also in love with all the fall lip colors i've been stocking up on.

I Confess it makes my heart happy to send out cheer mail to loved ones when they're going through a difficult time.
It makes me just as happy as it does the receiver. Yesterday I gave my sweet friend a cheer package and posted this on Instagram.

I Confess I dare you to do one random act of kindness for someone you love with week then tag me in a post on Instagram

Happy Wednesday! Share your confessions with me in the comments below.
