Coffee Chat
Monday, November 27, 2017
Happy Monday Dolls. I'm so happy you're here with me this morning. I know Mondays aren't our favorite days; today is particularly hard for me because it's the first day back to school and reality after a long Thanksgiving break. I've enjoyed sleeping in and long mornings on the couch drinking coffee and watching Christmas Hallmark movies and three long days of cooking and cleaning, preparing to host our first holiday in our new home. I'm not quiet ready to give that up yet but it makes it a little easier to bear with friends so grab a cup of coffee and get cozy with me and let's chat.
*Bonus if you are in pajamas or sweats with your hair in a messy bun because that's what I want this space to feel like; cozy dates with girlfriends in sweats and messy buns while we spill open the inner most parts of our hearts.*
So grab a mug and join me for a coffee date.
Coffee Chat + Goals
Monday, August 14, 2017
Hey Sweet Friends! Happy Monday. It's been a while since i've done a coffee chat + goals post because i've had several other posts to fill the space of Mondays. I have missed y'all and our cozy coffee chats though so throw your hair in a top knot, grab your favorite mug filled with coffee and a blanket and let's chat about all the things on our hearts and share our goals for this week.
Coffee Chat + Goals
Monday, July 24, 2017
Hey Sweet Friends! Happy Monday! I know you're reading this, rolling your eyes wondering what can possibly be happy about a Monday? Mondays are a blank slate, a chance to make new goals and start fresh. I want Monday mornings to be messy buns and coffee. I want it to be coffee dates in my living room while we share what's on our hearts and our goals for the week. So get cozy with your favorite mug of coffee and blanket and let's have a coffee date. No make up or pretty outfits required.
If you and I were on a coffee date...
We would be snuggled in my new living room with blankets in our laps, coffee in our mugs, a box of Sprinkles donuts on the table and my Willow pup between us. My cat, Chance, would be walking around meowing for attention (or food) because he's bossy like that. He's the cat. He rules the house. I would be drinking a donut shop coffee with Coldstone sweet cream creamer, because that's my go to at home. I'd show you the basket of K-Cups and the selection of creamers and offer you whatever you'd like because we believe in variety in this house.
I would tell you...
that our weekend was another wonderful one. Saturday was spent bargain hunting at flea markets and local salvage stores with my parents then we had lunch at one of our favorite local burger cafes. The rest of the evening was spent playing with kittens and hanging out at my mom and dad's house. Sunday was a lazy start to the day, which are always my favorite mornings. The rest of the day was spent getting ready for the week and watching Shark Week.
that I got the Alice Through the Looking Glass eye shadow palette. I can't wait to play around with different looks with it. The colors are so bright and most of them are out of my comfort zone but I want to step out of my comfort zone more and what better way than with pretty make up that can be wiped off if I don't like it?
I'm also thinking about taking a Facebook/Blogging break for a couple weeks. I have a few blog posts to wrap up but I'd like to take some time to work on getting ahead in blogging and to focus on my personal life; working out, yoga, and getting closer to God. I want to fill my life with all the things that bring me joy, not that blogging doesn't but I need to take a break and shift my focus.
I'm so ready for fall. I love summer, don't get me wrong but fall is where my heart is. Fall is all things cozy; hoodies and apple cider, favorite blankets and the colors changing. I'm so ready for it to be cooler and actually being able to get outside and enjoy things. Summer still has a while so i'll embrace it but honestly, can fall come already, please?
What would you share with me if we were on a coffee date?

Coffee Chat + Weekly Goals
Monday, July 10, 2017
Hi sweet friends. Happy Monday. I know it's the most dreaded day of the week but we can make them better. After all, it's a fresh start every week. I love sitting here on Monday mornings, cozy with my favorite mug of coffee, reflecting on goals and chatting with all my lovelies on Facebook. Did you know that i've started a Facebook Live Coffee Chat every Monday morning? If you're interested in joining us next week let me know, i'll add you on Facebook. For now grab a cup of coffee, get cozy and share what's on your heart.
If you and I were on a coffee date...
I would tell you that moving is hard work but it's so exciting and rewarding. I'm enjoying putting my new house together and adding all of our sweet personal touches from our wedding that I've had stored away because we didn't have the room to display them all at the old house. It feels so refreshing and comfortable to have a space that's truly ours. Our new neighbors are truly incredible, too. Our cat, Chance ran away last week and they all took the time to be on the look out for our boy. They sent well wishes and prayers and checked in everyday until he came home. It is definitely a good feeling knowing we live in a place where everyone comes together and watches out for each other.
I would also tell you that my mother in law recently made the comment to my husband that she noticed we live such happy lives and we don't fight and we have no drama in our lives. The secret to all of that is living simple, being happy with what we have and where we are in life and not inviting un-necessary problems into our lives. We also talk about everything. Are there times we have disagreements? Sure. We're like every other couple but we always talk it out. At the end of the day we're in it together. We're on the same team and I want to snuggle up next to my husband at night, knowing that we are both happy.
I'm on a mission to live a more simplified life; both mind and material things. Moving has really forced me to look at the "things" I own and question their value. Does it mean anything to me? And if so, am I proud to show it off? Would I display it in my home? When is the last time I used it? I've got quiet a big pile of things to donate sitting at the old house right now because they've served their purpose for me, now it's time to pass them on.
As far as living a more simplified life in terms of mind; it's all about organization and happiness. I'm the kind of person who makes lists like my life depends on them. To be honest, I think it does. That's why my Happy Planner has become my life. I can organize everything into the calendar and I even have add ins for daily scheduling and brain dumps. I'm obsessed with this planner, y'all.
And happiness is something we create. We can't depend on anyone to give us happiness. It has taken me years to figure this one out but now that I have, I can tell you this. If you want to be happy, BE! Change whatever it is that is dragging you down. You don't need anything that doesn't bring joy into your life. Find a hobby. I had someone say to me one time, "I'm not sure how you enjoy being a stay at home mom." True, my only child is a teenager and doesn't need me to be home as much anymore but it's still comforting knowing that I'm here anytime he needs me. He's never known life in a day care or with a babysitter because I've had the privilege of raising him and being able to be with him all the time. Aside from that, I take pride in taking care of our home. I can clean myself into a frenzy but it's because that's my job, to provide a safe, clean, happy place for my family.
I'm also a huge believer in hobbies and self care. If you don't have a hobby, my only question is, why? You can literally grab your iPhone and snap pictures of anything and have an instant hobby. I have too many hobbies to keep up with but I can promise you this, i'm never bored. Sometimes I might be lacking inspiration to do any of my hobbies but it's usually cured with a quick change of environment or a run to Target.
Self care is another huge thing for me. It's a key element to living a happy, healthy life. I hear people, mostly women, say it all the time; "I don't have time to (fill in the blank), it's usually something along the lines of paint my nails, do a facial, take a bubble bath with a candle lit and a glass of wine in hand and it takes everything within me not to roll my eyes out loud because that's a choice. Those people are choosing not to take the time to take care of themselves and eventually they'll burn out. Not saying it's going to be an epic, hit rock bottom kind of burn out but it'll be enough to stop them in their tracks. I know, i've been there and I learned that you can't be good for anyone else if you aren't good to yourself first. So this week, I challenge you to take 10 minutes everyday to do something for yourself. Turn off your phone and lock yourself away in the bathroom and paint your nails, give yourself a facial, or take a bubble bath. Bake something. Grab yourself a treat at your favorite bakery. Buy yourself some flowers. Do something that makes YOU happy then get back to taking care of everyone else.
This week I want to focus on letting things go and making room for more positive things in my life. This message has been brought up three different times in the last two weeks. I feel like God is trying to tell me something. The first time I heard it was in church two weeks ago. The message the preacher was preaching was learning to say no to things that just don't feel right so that you can make room for more positive yeses in your life. Last night one of the sweet entrepreneurs I follow, Erin, said "let things go, even if it is a bummer, and you open yourself up to a world of positive possibility." Yes, Lord, you've got my attention.

Coffee Chat + Weekly Goals
Monday, June 12, 2017
Hi Loves! Happy Monday. I hope you awakened today feeling refreshed and ready to take on a new week. I'm learning to love Mondays because they mean it's a fresh start. Why wait for a New Year to set new goals and start over, right? That's what Mondays are starting to mean to me. Of course, for us, it's summer break so there's no real hurry on Monday mornings and I love that. Right now it gives me the chance to take this series live on Facebook in the mornings and have real life coffee chats with my friends. It's the true perfect start to the week. So grab a mug of coffee, your favorite blanket, get cozy and stay a while.
If you and I were on a coffee date...
I would tell you that we had another near perfect weekend. Friday evening my husband and I had date night outside. We watched the new Beauty and the Beast on the back porch. I was absolutely mesmerized the entire time. Saturday we spent the day with my parents, cleaning and doing yard work then we cooked out. Sunday was spent getting things prepared for the week ahead and packing away more of our stuff in boxes for moving. My hubby did make me coffee and a nice breakfast, which is always a special treat. We ended the night snuggled up watching Fear the Walking Dead.
Spending Sundays preparing for the week ahead has become a lifesaver to me. I love my mornings, coffee in hand, while I make to do lists and decorate my planner then fill it with all the blog post ideas and important dates. It helps me feel ready for a new week and able to accomplish so much more. I'm in love with my Coffee + Goals group that was born out of last week's Coffee Chat live. My girlfriends started talking about needing a place to inspire them and to share their goals. A place where we can support each other, encourage each other and keep each other accountable. The group is still small but it's an intimate place that just feels like girlfriends hanging out, talking and cheering each other on. It's where my heart is and I didn't even know I had a need for it.
I would tell you that I have a love of throwing things away. Not good things but things that no longer serve a purpose for me. Simplifying is something that really makes my heart happy. That's the season of life i'm in, especially since we are moving very soon. It's so satisfying to let go of the things that clutter my heart, my house and my mind. I'm on a detox here; a life detox. If it doesn't serve a purpose or if i'm not in love with it, it's gotta go and I kinda do a little happy dance when that happens.
I've also enjoyed working on some collaborations for this little space lately. Last week I revived my Happy List series with Alix from A Pint Sized Life. From this series, she created a new hashtag for Instagram. You can read all about that on her post-What Makes you Happy then join us on Instagram using #TheHappyGrams.
I've also got more sponsored products + a collaboration with my sweet friends Alix A Pint Sized Life and Mistle Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas coming at the end of the month.
Here's a sneak peak
I also found a new obsession-Arnold Palmers. I posted this hack on Instagram.
Sweet tea + Lemon Bai water makes an awesome Arnold Palmer.
I also spent Saturday morning re-vamping all my social media handles. This probably means nothing to most of you who aren't bloggers but having cohesive social media handles is a pretty big deal in the blogging world. It makes it easier for readers and potential collaborators as well as sponsors to find you and connect. All of my handles are now Peaches_Willow. Facebook was the only one who wouldn't get on board with it so that one's just PeachesWillow.
Another social media milestone was hitting 114 likes on an Instagram photo. My top is 79 so 114 is a huge deal and it was all about my struggle with trying to find a new social media profile pic.
I would also tell you that next week is going to be crazy busy and exciting. We're closing on our new house on Friday then Saturday our family from Illinois gets here for an entire week. There will be lots of family fun/pool days/crafting/cooking out/ moving/ celebrating life going on so stay tuned to InstaStories for all our shenanigans. I'll also be taking a blogging break next week so I can soak up all the time with my family.

Goals
I've been setting weekly goals for almost a month now and I can say that it's been a game changer. I get so much more done and feel so much more accomplished. I actually look forward to Mondays because I have new goals to work on and my pretty planner all decorated and ready to go for the week ahead. My Coffee + Goals group really helps, too!
How'd I do with last week's goals?
+
I did pretty good with this goal. I did discover Arnold Palmers this week though, so that's been a downfall but for the most part I had one cup of coffee in the mornings and one glass of tea at night.
+
This is still in the works. I didn't realize how much time it takes to actually set up a newsletter. I did take Jenna Kutcher's The Creative's How to Guide to e-mail lists and learned a few things so at least that's a step in the right direction.
+
This one was way easier to check off on the weekends because we were occupied with other things. It still requires some work though.
+
Check this one off! I made BBQ Nachos for my family on Monday and they were a huge hit!
+
Fail but we did pack up my husband's closet and dresser so it's a compromise. Something got packed, at least.
This week's goals
+Start doing yoga 5 days a week again.
+Keep replacing sugary drinks with water.
+Pack away nightstand and Living Room Decor.
+Fulfill my tee shirt orders and my hubby's request for vinyl flags.
+Stay sane.
Y'all, the struggle is real with this one. With closing coming on Friday and family getting here Saturday, i'm getting more nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time but I'm also trying to squeeze in 4,550 things this week. So i'm going to try not to be crazy stressed and just do what I can and remember the rest will be there when I get to it.

Coffee Chat + Weekly Goals
Monday, June 5, 2017
I know it's that dreaded day that comes every week, it's our least favorite M word; Monday but it's also time to snuggle up and have a coffee date and talk goals. So grab a mug of coffee, your favorite blanket, get cozy and stay a while.
If you and I were on a coffee date...
I would tell you that our weekend was the perfect mix of relaxing and knocking stuff off our "to do" list. Saturday my hubby & I cleaned out our basement. Not much makes me happier than throwing things away and simplifying our lives. I love a good, clean space. I'll be honest, it's not a space I visit often but just knowing it's cleaner makes me happier. Sunday my hubby & I were without our kid so we went to Waffle House for lunch (where apparently Cam Newton had just left) then made a run to Marshall's to look at rugs for our new soon-to-be house. My hubby bought me a pretty, fluffy blanket with adorable wedding images on it then we spent Sunday night snuggled up watching Fear the Walking Dead.
Most of the weekend was rainy, which was okay with me. I enjoy the rain from time to time but we're hoping it stops soon so we can spend time outside in the pool.
I also spent some time talking with fellow blogger friends about some fun new collaborations. We're so excited about these, y'all, so keep an eye out for announcements soon!
I would tell you that my blog has really been on my heart lately. I love this little place but I realized that most of my real life friends aren't active here. It's not that big of a deal for me, I do this because I love it, not for fame or money but I do want my blog to be relatable for everyone so I took to Facebook yesterday and asked what kinds of posts everyone would like to see. I got some really good feedback but I also learned that most of my friends don't even see my posts so I'm on a mission to change that and make this blog space a place where my girlfriends and I gather to kick off our shoes, drink coffee, wine and sweet tea and share what's on our hearts. I also realize this means being even more comfortable and transparent. This means doing more Live videos. We're about to go Live on Facebook for the first time in just an hour!
It's been on my heart lately to live a more intentional life, too. Less trying to be "perfect" and more being present in the moment. Right now every room in my house is a mess. Normally I would be rushing around trying to clean it up but in this current moment I'm sitting here on the couch, finishing this post and getting ready for a Facebook Live event. I'm not one of those people who will ever have a Southern Living house but I hope to be one of those people who have a comfy house that makes everyone who enters feel loved, safe and welcomed. If I can do that then I will have succeeded. I would ask you what being intentional means to you?
I would also tell you that I had no intentions of selling the tee shirts i've been making. I had no desire to make it a business because I didn't believe in myself, y'all. RAW, HONEST Moment here but when I started posting the ones I made myself on Facebook, my friends started asking me if I was selling them. They believed in me! Y'all believed in me and it made me start believing in myself. Last week I made three shirt sales. THREE! With another two this week. This is the perfect example of how God's plans for our lives are greater than our own and how I should just step out of my own way. I think the best part about these tee shirt sales isn't that y'all made me believe in myself, it's that i've re-kindled some old friendships and am even helping one with ideas about starting up her own creative business! Love ya girl! I think this is where my heart is. It's in helping others to believe in themselves and make their dreams a reality! I can't wait to see where this takes her. Where it takes me. Where it takes us and our friendship! PS-That Etsy shop i've been talking about forever is about to become a reality.

Goals
A couple weeks ago I started setting weekly goals. Last week was a complete blur and I wasn't prepared at all so I didn't set new goals. That's okay though because I'm learning to live with grace and not be so hard on myself when life doesn't go as planned. This is God's life, i'm just living it the best I can so sometimes His plans come to fruition. If i'm being honest, I wish I would be so selfless and allow His plans to always come to fruition before my own. It's a work in progress. In the meantime i'll share my goals and try to live my best life possible.
How'd I do with last week's goals?
+
I failed this one. I spent money on new tank tops from Old Navy (they were having 50%-60% off all tanks) and some new lotions from Bath & Body
Works (they had buy 3, get 2 free + I had several coupons I used, too) but I will say that I only spent the money I made off tee shirt sales.
+
Accomplished this and I got so blessed by seeing two of my friends from high school. I ended that day feeling so inspired. I'm even helping
one of my girlfriends dream and scheme for a new project she has in mind.
+
This is in the works because I did start talking to another blogger today about what platform to use to host my newsletter.
+
I did start this. I just didn't keep it up everyday.
+
This was a success, only we didn't spend the evening snuggled on the couch. My husband built an outdoor tv stand and we spent the night
watching a movie on the back porch. It was such a fun way to spend time together. For the record, I also spent time snuggled in the hammock
with my husband that weekend, too!
This week's goals
+ Replace my sugary drinks with water. I'll allow myself only one cup of coffee + one cup of tea a day.
+ Get my newsletter ready to go live.
+ Spend the evenings completely un-plugged from social media.
+ Make one new recipe for my family.
+ Pack up my desk space.
These goals seem easy enough but they're all things I need to practice more. I was doing so good about drinking a lot of water and cutting sugar out but then I started slipping because nothing else sounded or tasted good for a while. I know I can do it and I feel so much better when I do so it's time to get back to that. My newsletter has been a huge goal for a while but I put it off because I had no idea where to begin with it until recently. I've had a couple people ask me where they can find my newsletter or if I have a way to notify them when a new post is up. I'd love for my followers to be able to stay up to date with me and my blog. I also find myself so into social media in the evenings that I'm not spending quality time with my family. I definitely want to change that and spend even more time reading the stack of books I have waiting on me.
I've been so un-motivated to cook lately and I think it's because i'm tired of making the same things over and over so this week i'm adding BBQ nachos to the mix. I'll share the recipe if they turn out good. It's also time to pack up my desk space. Big things are about to happen for my family and it's time for us to start packing and getting ready for the exciting things to come.

Coffee Chat + Weekly Goals
Monday, May 22, 2017
Hello loves. Happy Monday. I know, it's not my favorite day of the week either but I am learning to love it a little more. It's a chance for a fresh start and I love fresh starts. I also love coffee and girl dates so join me for some coffee and girl time, won't you? I'll wait while you get your favorite mug filled with coffee and join me.
It's almost the start of summer for us. School is out at the end of this week and we've got a huge summer in the works. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, a lot excited and even more inspired but I know that I need to get myself organized for all the things to come so I thought i'd add a little something to our morning coffee chats. I'm going to add a Monday Mantra and Weekly Goals to the mix to keep myself accountable and ready to take on the world. More on that in a minute. But First, Coffee Chat.
If you and I were on a coffee date...
I would tell you that the weekend was perfect. We didn't have any really big plans so it was really relaxing. We took our son shopping for new shoes and went to lunch together on Saturday. Two weekends in a row i've gotten to go to brunch/lunch with my guys and I kinda like it even more than going out to dinner. Day dates are my new fave.
Yesterday my hubby & I spent the day at my mama and daddy's house just hanging out. My kiddo did come down with some sickness that he's still trying to shake off, over the weekend, so he's home with me today and I don't mind. I like it when he's home. It won't be much longer and he won't want to be home all the time so I soak it up while I can. What did you do over the weekend?
Last Friday night I had the privilege of chatting with one of the most inspirational women I know, Ashley Beaudin. We just talked about life stuff and the possibility of me opening an Etsy shop. She just has this way of making you feel like you can do anything and no dream is too small. I think i'm finally going to open that shop because, in the words of Ashley, "what's the worst that can happen?" She really set my soul on fire to chase my dreams.
I've also been loving getting crafty with my Cricut lately. I've been making all the cute shirts and mugs and my sweet friends have been encouraging me to sell them. I actually have three shirt orders currently.
I would tell you that this is the last week of school for us then i'll have a high schooler. When did this happen? Last week he was four, I swear!
I spent yesterday morning making my to do list for the week and decorating my week in my planner and getting organized. It felt so good to get this done and out of the way. I've been so behind lately but this should be my new Sunday routine because it feels good going into the week prepared. I really want to find a morning routine that is productive and gives me energy. Do you have any tips or ideas?

Goals
I feel like right now is the perfect time for me to detox everything in my life; especially physical clutter and my mind so I'm going to make weekly goals. I've even started a weekly inspiration + goals
Pinterest board. You can follow along and see what my goals are each week, if you'd like.
I'm going to start small with five goals I want to achieve this week.
+ Spend ZERO $. Other than on gas in my Jeep and mailing a package off.
+ Finish my tee shirt orders and get them delivered.
+ Start putting together my newsletter.
+ Read one chapter a day in Girl Boss or Note To Self.
+ Spend one evening snuggled on the couch, watching a movie with my hubby sans tech devices like we used to do when we were dating.
I know these goals seem super easy but in all actuality, they are things I struggle with. I've been guilty of spending money on totally un-necessary things. I see a lipstick or nail polish I want, I buy it or if I want Chick Fil A for lunch, I get it. These are small things but they do add up and we're in a season of life where we need to start being more frugal and learning to save.
Those tee shirt orders just need to be done and delivered. My newsletter was something I never really thought about before until a new reader told me she found my blog and was trying to sign up to my newsletter and was having a hard time. It was an eye opening thing to tell her I didn't have a newsletter yet. It made me see that someone would sign up for it so I need to get it done. Both of these things are going to boost my dreams of future business endeavors so why not invest in them?
I've been trying to read Girl Boss and Note To Self for months now. I enjoy reading, I just never take the time to do it so it's time to step away from technology in the afternoons and read. And as for the movie and cuddling with my hubby. That goes without saying. We just get so busy and exhausted that in the evenings we are either still running around like crazy or snoozing away on opposite couches/chairs with a dog in between. I kinda miss that dating feeling. Okay, I miss it a lot. It's time to invest in not only "me time" but "us time" again.

Monday mornings mean coffee dates, loves! So get snuggled in with your favorite mug of coffee and join me for a virtual coffee date.
If you and I were on a coffee date we'd be snuggled in my living room on opposite ends of my couch. I'd be drinking a donut shop coffee with Coldstone Sweet Cream. I'd let you pick a coffee out of our baskets (we like variety in this house) and make it for you, then I'd join you on the couch. I'd offer you one of my blankets because I like to be cozy when I drink my coffee and I like my guests to be comfy, too. Maybe it's a southern thing. Hospitality and all that.
I'd tell you that our weekend was definitely a bit odd because my hubby worked 16 hours on Saturday but it was good for my son and I. We spent a lot of time with my parents. Sunday my hubby & I went to brunch and he took me shopping for vinyl for some projects I have in mind then we visited with each set of our parents for a while. It was a nice way to end the weekend.
I would tell you that we have big plans for the next chapter of our lives. I'm bursting at the seams with excitement but am not really ready to share all the details yet so stay tuned for another coffee chat about that.
For the last year i've been toying with the idea of opening an Etsy shop. I'll be honest, i'm scared. That's the only reason why I haven't done it yet. Kinda silly but I have this whole perfectionist side that comes out sometimes and I'm just not sure if my products are perfect yet. I'm not even sure they'll ever be, in my own opinion, anyway but I think i'm ready to kick all that to the side and just go for it. '
I would tell you I am currently obsessing over Girlboss on Netflix. I'd ask you what shows you are currently watching?
I'm also obsessing over this hairstyle. I may or may not have even chopped my own hair off this morning.Sorry. Not sorry. I'm about to throw some curls in it and try to style it super cute.
I would also tell you that I am struggling B.I.G. time today. It might be a multiple cups of coffee kinda day. Case in point. It's noon and i'm still working on this post.
So tell me, what would you share with me today if we were on a coffee date. I need some kinda interaction and inspiration here.

I may or may not have even chopped my own hair off this morning.
I would also tell you that I am struggling B.I.G. time today. It might be a multiple cups of coffee kinda day. Case in point. It's noon and i'm still working on this post.
So tell me, what would you share with me today if we were on a coffee date. I need some kinda interaction and inspiration here.
Coffee Talk + May Goals
Monday, May 1, 2017
Hello Sweet Friends. Happy Monday and Happy May! Can you believe it's already May? To celebrate a new month with fresh beginnings and a new week I think we should have a coffee date.
If you and I were on a coffee date, we'd be at the local donut shop. I'd be drinking a donut shop coffee. Mondays call for something strong and fancy free. I need all the coffee on Mondays. I'd ask you what's been going on in your life lately and i'd tell you all the things going on in mine.
It's been a while since i've been on top of my blogging game and I desperately want to come back strong but it's just not happening so I think i'm taking the month of May off. I may pop in for a post here and there, i'll definitely be sharing my Welcome Home Wednesdays post every Wednesday but for now I need to take time away from the computer and work on batch writing and coming back strong in June. I will still be on Instagram though so feel free to follow along.
Speaking of my blog; you may notice it got a face lift over the weekend. It was un-planned but when I woke up Saturday morning everything was a hot mess. My layout was pretty much gone; everything was a jumbled mess. My hubby who works in IT said that the server probably switched something or some mess like that. It happened to them at work a couple weeks ago and he works for one of the largest hospitals in the state. Instead of going into panic mode, I tried to work on it myself for a couple hours to no avail so I decided to go to Etsy and purchase a pre-made blogger template, thinking that would set things straight. When it didn't work I decided to contact the shop owner who said she can install templates for no charge as long as the template was from her shop. Done and done. Usually I would struggle with doing it on my own but I decided to see what she could do to help. She sent me a message back almost immediately with all the info she needed. When I sent it back to her she had my site fixed in under an hour. Her Etsy shop says that it could take up to 36 hours for her to install the theme but she was a dream come true. Like the Fairy Godmother of blogger land because she had mine fixed in under 3 hours. Cheers to you Blogger Template.
P.S.-Her templates are usually $30 but now through May 5th they're only $4.99. Go snag yourself a sping update for your blog.
I would also tell you that this whole house building/buying situation is a lot harder than I ever dreamed it would be but I know that it's all going to work out. It'll be so worth it in the end.
I would also tell you that today starts the Imperfect Boss Campaign. Join us using #imperfectboss to silence the negative inner dialogue and celebrate all the reasons why we're awesome.
Now on to May's Goals. I've decided to do something a little different with my monthly goals. I'm only going to set four goals for the month because I believe less is more. If I set less goals, i'll have more time to focus on them and I'm not going to hash out the fact that I did or didn't do the goals for the previous month. It really doesn't matter and you probably don't really care. I'm just trying to be honest here.
May's Goals
1. Get ahead in everything. Life has been sooo draining lately and I always feel behind. This is the time of year when I like to be outside and doing fun things with my family not feeling like I have to miss fun things to take care of my responsibilities or feeling overwhelmed and guilty when I blow them off to have fun. Balance is a magical unicorn i'm trying to find and I think by taking time off from blogging I can focus on getting ahead in everything from writing blog posts to planning and preparing meals.
2. Cut out sugar again. I did pretty good with this at the beginning of last month then I slacked. Now i'm binging on all the sugar again. Clearly it's a battle I haven't won yet and I'm not giving up until I can say that I can eat sugar in moderation and not binge on it. In the mean time, anyone want those macaroons in my freezer?
3. Pack away one room. With the possibility of a move happening soon, I want to get ahead and start packing up the house one room at a time so that we don't have to rush to get it all done at one time. I really want to be organized as we move into the next chapter of our lives.
4. Finish reading one book. I have three books i've started. Three. Not counting the one i'm listening to on audible. I want to finish at least one of them. Books > t.v. and I need to focus on reading more.
So there's all the randomness on my mind. What would you share with me if we were on a coffee date? What are your goals for May?
Coffee Talk
Monday, March 20, 2017
Hi Sweet Friends. Happy Monday. I know Mondays have a reputation of being awful and I understand. I mean we're having to leave our cozy blankets and sweats at home and be real members of society today, at least most of us do. I totally miss having my hubby home, snoozing away in his chair and my son talking to his friends and playing video games. I miss the togetherness after the weekend is gone but I am learning to love Mondays. I love the quietness of the mornings and getting to catch up on the chores I let slip by while I was enjoying my family. I love replying to all the e-mails waiting for me in my inbox and all the comments on my Instagram and blog. I feel so refreshed on Mondays but I know not everyone shares that sentiment.
You know what would make Mondays even better? If we could have a coffee date with our girlfriends. Imagine being cozy in a small cafe, sipping a mug of coffee before the hustle of the week begins. Would you join me for a coffee date this morning.
If you and I were on a coffee date we'd be cozy in my favorite cafe/farmer's market. I love this little cafe, it's half cafe half farmer's market. It's cozy and inviting. I would be drinking an Italian Cream espresso and eating a blueberry muffin. What would you have? I would tell you about my weekend and ask about yours. I would ask how your family is and happily look at any pictures you have of your kids and pets and all the fun things in your life lately.
I would tell you that I finally feel like i'm getting my house and life back on track after being sick for a week. It really threw me off track and I honestly didn't mind. Usually i'm border line OCD about my house being clean and having blog posts drafted ahead of time, not that I actually ever get them posted before 10 a.m. but I like to have something started in advance. Being sick made me slow down and realize that the house work isn't going anywhere, neither is the blog. I'm actually enjoying moving at a slower pace. It gives me more time to enjoy life and what truly matters most.
I would also tell you that my focus has shifted from the blog to other forms of social media lately, mostly Instagram. I don't know why but I feel like Insta has my heart and attention lately. It's not that I'm not focused on Peaches and Willow because I love creating content to share but I'm really focused on growing Insta. The #simplystyledmarch challenge that I'm doing really has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and find my self confidence. Sometimes it's hard being a woman with curves in today's society but this challenge really makes me feel confident and beautiful in my imperfect skin.
I am also obsessed with Ashley Beaudin. She's an amazing girl boss and creative entrepreneur and the master mind behind The Imperfect Boss. If you don't know Ashley yet then run to her blog, Facebook page or Instagram and become best friends forever because she's the kind of girl everyone needs in their tribe. I've also recently found Sarah from Stylish Sassy and Classy and am kind of obsessed with her girl boss attitude, too. These ladies are both such an inspiration to me and The Imperfect Boss Facebook group is my comfy, safe place full of fellow girl bosses just trying their best and cheering each other along.
I would tell you that a few weeks ago I had a potential collaborator back out when she found out I was also collaborating with a lady who ran a company that sold similar items. I went through a roller coaster of emotions on this one and I didn't talk to anyone but my husband about it. I've quietly thought about it and apologized to her and I am truly sorry that I hurt her, it definitely wasn't my intention. I won't share too many details out of respect for both ladies I was in collaboration with. I will say this though, I am sorry I hurt someone's feelings. I have the softest heart you may ever know. I also believe that there's enough room for everyone to succeed and I will continue to support small businesses that I believe in because, to me, that's what being a girl boss is. It's about wanting everyone to succeed and being willing to help peers out. Friday in one of my groups we were sharing what our victories were last week; I said mine was scoring nine collabs for the blog. Another lady apologetically asked me what that meant and explained she was new to this. I told her never to feel sorry for asking a question. I love to share with others the things I've learned, even if it means we're working towards the same goal. I just wish everyone saw it that way.
Speaking of, I saw a post on Ashley Beaudin's Instagram the other day. I won't share the image because it belongs to her, not me, but it said "Let's be women who aren't just here for a flashy moment, but who are committed to the long haul." This quote is everything. Be a woman who shows up, not just for the glittery moments but who keeps going through the dark, dull moments and in every moment, cheer each other on. Empowered women empower women. Be that.
I have signed on about nine sponsors for the blog and am working on collaborating with them for some fun posts soon. When I started blogging several years ago, I did it as a way to keep up with mine and my son's lives. I had no idea the blessings and friendships it would bring me. I truly wish everyone understood the blogging world because it's a pretty awesome place.
I would tell you that cutting sugar out of my diet has been easier than I thought it would be. I'm not going to lie, I haven't completely quit because I figured out there's sugar in everything, especially my beloved granola bars but I am keeping a daily food diary and cutting way back on sugar. I was a 2-3 glasses of sweet tea a day kinda girl, now I cut it back to one small glass a day. The other day I even put the Reese's peanut butter cup back when I was standing in the check out line at the grocery store. Small victory but it's still a victory. Keeping a food journal has made me realize just how much sugar I was consuming before. It also keeps me accountable.
I would share with you my new favorite make up and beauty products. The ELF total face palette is a must have for every ladies make up bag. It has two blushes, a highlighter and a bronzer in it and the packaging is beautiful silvery mirrored. It's seriously gorgeous on its own. My other new favorite in the essence dark circle concealer. It really helps my dark circles and this time of year I really need all the help I can get because my circles get so dark because of allergies. I've also been attached to my Perk! stick by Perfectly Posh lately. It's a lifesaver, y'all. It's made with essential oils, which I am obsessed with anyway but since my allergies are acting up this is my go to.
Can we talk about our most dreaded chore real quick? Mine is ironing. I despise it with every fiber of my being. Okay, maybe that's a bit dramatic but I truly don't like it but my hubby works with doctors and other higher ups in a big medical company and it requires him to dress nice, which means I have to iron a lot. I'm really trying to find ways to make this chore a little more pleasant so i'm thinking a Gilmore Girls or Fixer Upper marathon while I iron will help. Any tips or ideas for me? Help a June Cleaver wanna be out.
I would also tell you that I want to do a Q&A post on the blog soon so if you have a question you'd like me to answer please let me know!
Than you for joining me for a coffee date this morning.
What would you like to share with me?
Coffee Talk
Monday, March 13, 2017
Good Morning Loves. Happy Monday. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was perfectly lazy. We had no where to go and we hadn't seen my dad in a month so we spent Saturday just snuggled on my parent's couch watching Netflix (have you seen the Santa Clarita Diet yet? Hilarious!!) and playing with the dogs and cats.
Sunday was spent at home being equal parts lazy and getting things ready for this week. Oh, and I flooded my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest with pictures. Sounds fun, right? I love weekends like that but with those weekends comes Monday. Mondays would be so much better if we met up with our girlfriends for a cup of coffee in the mornings so go grab a cute mug filled with your favorite drink of choice and join me for a coffee date.
If you and I were on a coffee date we'd be sitting on my front porch, snuggled in warm blankets because I love having my coffee on the porch in the peacefulness of the morning. There's something almost therapeutic about starting mornings in the silence, watching as the world comes alive.
I'd be drinking a Cinnamon Sugar Cookie coffee and I would offer you your choice of coffees because we believe in variety in this house.
I would tell you that you look great today and compliment your hair, your make up, your outfit or something about you because I love to point out the good in people and make them feel special and loved. You are special and loved, just so you know.
I would tell you that our son is starting high school next year and that fills me with happiness and anxiety all at the same time. He's already got plans for after high school too and that's more than this mama's heart can take right now. He's super smart and kind and funny but honest, sometimes too honest but I have no doubt life is going to take him amazing places. I'm happy to see the man he's becoming.
I would tell you we're getting super close to getting ready to break ground and start building our house. I'm equal parts excited and nervous about this, too. It's a huge deal because this will be our forever home.
I would tell you that I cut sugar out this month and while I can't tell you if it's helped me energy wise yet because I immediately had a visit from that pesky aunt us women have then got sick with allergies, I can tell you that i've lost 9 lbs and fruit tastes like candy to me now. I can not get enough fruit. So it definitely has its benefits.
Since I was sick all week last week, I didn't go anywhere or spend any money (other than about $40 at the grocery store) and it was kind of glorious. I also didn't worry about the house being clean or if I had a blog post done daily and I kinda loved that, too. I'm notorious for going ninety to nothing, making sure everything is clean and put away and everything always has to be perfect but being sick taught me that it's okay if everything isn't done and everything isn't perfect.
I would tell you that I'm currently loving Elle King. I had heard a couple of her songs before and they're great but after I listened to her on The Lady Gang podcast I fell in love with her. As soon as the podcast was over I went to Spotify and began listening to her songs on repeat. I can not get enough and while I can't take the credit for this playlist, it's been my jam. My favorite songs are It's Good To Be A Man and Under The Influence.
I would also tell you that i'm getting bored with Facebook and have been bored with Twitter for a while. I only keep them because in the world of blogging and networking with companies as sponsors and affiliates they're great ways to stay in touch and share products and that's something I love doing.
And since we Sprang Forward (Sprung Forward?) with time over the weekend, i'd tell you that I actually love it. I love the extra hour of daylight that turns into hours as we get farther into the spring and summer. This time of year has my heart for so many reasons but this cold snap we're having can go. I'm not a fan of the 20s and 30s.
Thank you for enjoying some coffee chat with me. Since we can't have a day between Saturday and Sunday it sure is nice to start Monday off with some great company and coffee. What would you share with me if we were on a coffee date?
Monday Morning Coffee Talk
Sunday, February 19, 2017
Hi Sweet Friends! Happy Monday! I know. I know. Why do I keep reminding you that it's Monday? Well, for good reason. Because I want Mondays to be about celebrating a new week. We're all about celebrating a new year so why not celebrate a new week and I think the best way to start that is by having a coffee date with a girlfriend so grab a cup of coffee and get cozy with me for a virtual coffee date this morning.
If you and I were on a coffee date we'd be sitting at a table at my favorite local donut shop. My order there changes frequently but I think i'd be having a white chocolate mocha and a french crueller donut. Easily my favorites and my regular "go tos".
I'd tell you...
Turning 35 has been exhausting. I finally hit a point where I'm having to listen to my body because it's been on the verge of giving out on me lately due to exhaustion. I'm learning that life will go on whether the bed gets made and the laundry gets done because, hello, let's be real-that stuff never goes anywhere.
I'm learning that the best thing I can do for myself is listen when my body is that tired and give into a day of binge watching Gilmore Girls and blogging and indulging in a little treat. It's okay. In fact, taking care of myself is my #1 goal lately because if I can't take care of me then there's no way I can take care of anyone else.
My hubby & I have gone to bed by 9 pm a couple nights in the last week and it has been glorious. Our child is a teenager and he's totally fine with mom and dad going to bed early and it's nice to know that we don't have to worry about him needing us or doing anything stupid. Plus sleep wins.
I try not to think about him being a teenager. I mean, of course I know but if I think too much about it I start to panic. He's talking about driving and joining the military and i'm over here having panic attacks because he's going into high school. If you have a little one right now hold tight to them and soak up every single moment because they really do go by so fast.
I have the sweetest friend in the entire world. She's the friend who did my make up, for free, for my wedding. In fact she even bought me all the make up and gave it to me as a gift. She is one of my people in this world. She bought me the $50 Swamp Queen palette by Tarte for my birthday. She knew I had been wanting it but would never spend that kind of money on myself. Every day since I've used it and been inspired to step out of my comfort zone and play with make up more. I'm kinda obsessed now.

For Valentine's Day I got the craving for a cheesecake so I hopped in my kitchen and whipped one up. Two actually, one was for my parents. I wanted a white chocolate one and couldn't find a suitable recipe so I pieced together a couple that I had and came up with the most delicious cheesecake you've ever tasted. My hubby & I have been enjoying it this week. Today he even said that I had outdone myself so of course i'd have to share that recipe with you. I've made it into a pin able image for our virtual coffee date.
I would tell you that I've developed a fear of the dentist and have a fear of all my teeth falling out. Ridiculous, I know but it's true. Laugh at me all you want but make me mashed potatoes when it happens please.
I have also become obsessed with InstaStories. I feel like it's more fresh than SnapChat but I'm holding on to SnapChat until all my friends convert. Come join me on the Insta side. We have all the pretty things. You can even bring your filters.
Since i've become obsessed with make up i've also become obsessed with You Tube videos so i'd ask who you who are your favorite You Tube beauty queens? I need some more to follow!
I'd also tell you that i'm into Season 4 on the Gilmore Girls and am so happy about one of the recent relationships! I hope, with everything in me, it lasts. I'm not giving away any spoilers in case you are one of the people, like me, who lived under a rock for the last 17 years and are just now catching up on GG! So friends, don't leave any spoilers in the comments. E-mail me @ lesliew21282@gmail.com if you want to talk about this.
I'm also giving up sugar next month. Not totally quitting but cutting way back. I'll still have my morning coffee and my glass of sweet tea at dinner but I feel like cutting back on sugar is going to help me feel so much better. Help me if i'm wrong!
I would tell you how proud I am of my thrifty finds. I went to a thrift shop on Friday. I used to think that thrift shops weren't my thing. Not because i'm above them but because I could never find anything in them but this one was huge and so organized. I walked away with 5 tops and a pair of jeans for $22! They were having a 50% off sale, too which sweetened the deal even more. I'll be back for their next 50% off sale.
This sparkly top is one of the ones I scored. It's a Juicy Couture I paid about $3 for.
As we left I would hug you and tell you I hope you have a lovely day! And I do! I hope you all have a lovely day!
What's something you would share with me on our coffee date?
Monday Morning Coffee Talk + My Birthday Wish List
Monday, February 6, 2017
Hey Sweet Friends! Happy Monday. I hope the weekend treated you well. I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't ready for today. I'm exhausted beyond comprehension and it's not because of the Super Bowl. I'm just in need of some cozy down time so let's have a virtual coffee date.
If we were on a coffee date i'd order a white chocolate mocha and i'd tell you...
My hubby & I didn't even watch the Super Bowl last night. We're not into football really. I know, how can I even be Southern and not interested in football? It's just not my thing.
I am so excited about a few packages I have arriving this week. I have a couple of blog collaborations that you'll have to stay tuned to see those. I also have a couple make up filled boxes on the way, too.
Speaking of blogging collaborations, i'm really excited about all of them but there is one in particular that I get to style.
I'm super excited to step out of my comfort zone and do this one.
This weekend is my birthday and i'm super excited about our plans! I'm hoping for a ton of rest and relaxation and shopping and fun!
I'm going to lunch with my BFF from high school Friday and I'm so excited. We've kept in touch and seen each other over the years but it's been a long time since we've had a girl's date! I have missed her so so much!
I'll be getting my hair colored next month and i'm thinking about adding some rose gold in my hair with the blonde highlights.
I really want something different and fun.
And since my birthday is Sunday I thought i'd share my wish list with you.
Candy Sunnies//Be Happy Car Coasters //Stress Relief //Ethnic Leather Pouch//Mala Beads Necklace//Aquarius Bundle//Gilmore Girl Socks//Kate Spade Back Pack//Rose Gold Beats Headphones//Grace Not Perfection//Swamp Queen Palette//Don't Panic Mug
Monday Morning Coffee Talk
Monday, January 23, 2017
Hi Sweet Friends! Happy Monday. I know Mondays are hard but wouldn't they be so much more enjoyable if they started out with a coffee date with a girlfriend? I thought so so let's get cozy with our favorite mugs full of coffee and chat.
If you and I were on a coffee date we'd be cozy at my favorite donut shop. I'd order a red velvet donut and an Irish Cream Espresso.
I would tell you...
How much I enjoyed the weekend. Saturday my son had an interview at one of the local high schools for their IB gifted program. While he was there my husband & I grabbed breakfast then drove around town then we enjoyed some time at our sweet friend/hairdressers shop.
After that we went home and enjoyed a wonderful day in our office. I cleaned up my desk and made some things with my cricut. Sunday was spent at my brother and sister in laws house, celebrating my mom's birthday and getting lots of love from my nephew.
I am glad the election is over but I fear for our country's future. Not because of who the president is but because of how divided the nation is. It truly hurts my heart to see friends feuding with each other over their beliefs. We can all choose to believe what we want and we should be respectful of our fellow man for their choices, too.
I believe we should all through kindness around like confetti. I also believe that life would be so much better if pinatas were strategically placed around and when we come across one we could take a whack at it. When it busted open it would be full of things like make up and coffee shop gift cards. Like, hey, you had a bad day, here's a new mascara and go buy yourself a coffee.
I started this year out strong. I was on top of the world and my blogging game but I quickly remembered my word of the year; prioritize; and realized that, while I love my blog, I need to focus on my family and friends, too so I decided not to post on Thursdays and I truly enjoyed it. I even attempted to take a nap. The dog had other plans but I still loved it! I'm trying to find my magical unicorn of balance.
I'm probably going to have to turn in my southern card for this one but i'll admit, i'm not much of a football fan but I did watch last night's game at my brother and sister in law's. It was an awesome game and i'm happy for the Falcons.
Next weekend my son turns 14!!!! FOURTEEN! And my husband & I agreed to let him invite a few friends over to spend the night. I might be crazy. If not now I will be by next Sunday.
I won a book called Womanskills from a blog I read sometimes. I'm pretty excited because the book sounds like it's full of amazing info but also because I WON!
I have enjoyed ignoring all my chores and social media this weekend but now it's time to be an adult and do adult things, like laundry and renewing my tag. Have a Happy Monday.
Monday Morning Coffee Talk
Monday, January 16, 2017
Good Morning Sweet Friends. Happy Monday. I know how much we all dread Mondays but what if we could start Mondays off with a coffee date? That would make everything better, right? So this morning i'm going to share some coffee talk with you. So get cozy with your favorite mug full of coffee and let's have a date.
If you and I were on a coffee date right now, we'd be at my favorite local Farmer's Market/Cafe and I'd be drinking an Irish Cream Espresso.
Monday Morning Coffee Talk
Monday, January 9, 2017
Hi Sweet Friends. Happy Monday. There's something calming about slow starts to Monday mornings. I'm in heaven right now because we're on a two hour delay this morning because of the ice storm that we got over the weekend. It's almost gone now, just some black ice in places but the school system is playing it safe and i'm okay with that. In fact, i'm totally happy about it. I'm curled up in my favorite blanket, sipping my coffee, enjoying the silence before the chaos of the day starts. I think every Monday should start like this.
Coffee Talk
Tuesday, October 11, 2016
Happy Tuesday Loves! I hope the weekend treated you well and you are all rested up and ready to take on the week.
We had a fun, low key weekend and loved every second of it.
Friday night we went to see my brother, sister in law, and baby nephew. We took them dinner and hung out with them for a few hours, just eating, talking, and loving on baby Luke. It was a wonderful laid back night.
Saturday we realized our son had no fall clothes that fit him and since it's now 60 degrees when we go to school in the mornings he needed jeans. So we took him clothes shopping then we went grocery shopping. It was a whole day of shopping and family togetherness, which is always fun. We ended the day eating chili on the porch and talking to our sweet neighbor while Dylan played with his robots with the dog. Fun times. We're a bunch of partiers around here y'all!
Sunday the weather was gorgeous. It was very fall and sunny. Too pretty to sit inside all day. I spent my morning making 3 dozen donut and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins then we decided to take our Willow girl to my mom and dad's where we could sit around outside and let her run with my mom and dad's dogs. We ended our night again, by sitting on the porch eating homemade chicken noodle soup and talking to our sweet neighbor. Our weekend was so relaxing and full of time with the ones we love. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I feel so relaxed and ready to take on the week now.
