Oh Hey, Friday!

Friday is finally here, y'all and it means summer break officially starts in just a couple hours for us. While this summer will be busy for us, I'm one excited mama. There's something about the freedom of summer that I still love; sleeping in, late night snuggles on the front porch with my hubby, corn hole games, swimming, cookouts; I just love it all. But first, grab a cup of coffee and get cozy with me because i'm going to talk Good Week/Bad Week, Instagram Goodness, Coffee & Blogs Posts and my favorite internet finds from the week.

Oh Hey, Friday!

Good Week/Bad Week
Good Week- Umm, that Summer Break begins!!!

Bad Week- I've accomplished nothing this week because I had the absolute worst pain in my hip. It seems so much better this morning though so yay for that.

How To Create An Inspiration Vision Board

Hello Lovelies. It's been a while since I've shared my obsession with vision boards. So I thought I would share a guest post I did on a friend's blog a while back. Some of the information is the same in both posts but the first post is more about how to create a vision board for setting goals and chasing dreams. This vision board is aimed more towards creating an inspiration vision board, Lately I need all the inspiration I can get so I thought this was a perfect time to re-visit this post and remind myself of my dreams, goals and what sets my soul on fire.

You can check out my post on How To Create A Vision Board here.

To me, vision boards are such a game changer because i'm a visual person so seeing my dreams, my goals, my plans come to life in pictures gives me such a sense of excitement. They're also therapeutic for me because I can get things out of my head and on to a canvas that I can look at time and time again. So I thought i'd bring my passions of inspiring others and vision boards together for a fun guide to creating your own inspiration vision board.

*All the pics I've used in this collage are my own.*

How To Create An Inspiration Vision Board

1. Get Inspired

I'm sure this seems pretty obvious but truth is sometimes inspiration can be hard to come by so sit down and write out a list of things that inspire you. Scroll through Pinterest, take a walk outside, go to your favorite store and find things that inspire you then write them down in a pretty journal.

2. Visual Representation

This is where things get really fun because now you get to take your list of all the things that inspire you and put them into pictures. You can snap some of your own or save ones you like from Pinterest, Google, etc.

Have fun with this part because this is where you'll keep coming to when you need inspiration so make the pictures pretty and a true reflection of what you want them to represent. There's no wrong way to do this, just have fun with it and follow your heart.

3. Learning How To Use Your Board

For some people just making the board is enough but the purpose of the board is for it to inspire you so just remember to pull it out and look at it every once in a while. I like to set a reminder in my phone at the beginning of every month to look at my board. Of course, it's always a good idea to look at it when you're un-inspired.

4. Make It Part Of Your Everyday

As a blogger, it's easy to let a post slip away into the archives of my blog so this part is especially important to me. I like to keep my vision boards easily accessible by taking a picture of it and using it as the background on my phone. You could also print the pictures out and put them in a cute basket on your coffee table or cut them out and use them in your day planner. You could even tape them to the bathroom mirror or hang them on the side of the refrigerator. Anything to keep them visible so you stay inspired.

Well friends, I hope you enjoyed this post and I truly hope you take the time to make your own Inspiration Vision Board. I promise, this will be such a fun project and you'll love the happiness it brings to put together such a fun board that you'll find yourself dreaming of other things to make vision boards on.

I would love to see your vision boards so share them with me on:

Coffee Chat + Weekly Goals

Hello loves. Happy Monday. I know, it's not my favorite day of the week either but I am learning to love it a little more. It's a chance for a fresh start and I love fresh starts. I also love coffee and girl dates so join me for some coffee and girl time, won't you? I'll wait while you get your favorite mug filled with coffee and join me.

It's almost the start of summer for us. School is out at the end of this week and we've got a huge summer in the works. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, a lot excited and even more inspired but I know that I need to get myself organized for all the things to come so I thought i'd add a little something to our morning coffee chats. I'm going to add a Monday Mantra and Weekly Goals to the mix to keep myself accountable and ready to take on the world. More on that in a minute. But First, Coffee Chat.

If you and I were on a coffee date...

I would tell you that the weekend was perfect. We didn't have any really big plans so it was really relaxing. We took our son shopping for new shoes and went to lunch together on Saturday. Two weekends in a row i've gotten to go to brunch/lunch with my guys and I kinda like it even more than going out to dinner. Day dates are my new fave.

Yesterday my hubby & I spent the day at my mama and daddy's house just hanging out. My kiddo did come down with some sickness that he's still trying to shake off, over the weekend, so he's home with me today and I don't mind. I like it when he's home. It won't be much longer and he won't want to be home all the time so I soak it up while I can. What did you do over the weekend?

Last Friday night I had the privilege of chatting with one of the most inspirational women I know, Ashley Beaudin. We just talked about life stuff and the possibility of me opening an Etsy shop. She just has this way of making you feel like you can do anything and no dream is too small. I think i'm finally going to open that shop because, in the words of Ashley, "what's the worst that can happen?" She really set my soul on fire to chase my dreams.

I've also been loving getting crafty with my Cricut lately. I've been making all the cute shirts and mugs and my sweet friends have been encouraging me to sell them. I actually have three shirt orders currently.

I would tell you that this is the last week of school for us then i'll have a high schooler. When did this happen? Last week he was four, I swear!

I spent yesterday morning making my to do list for the week and decorating my week in my planner and getting organized. It felt so good to get this done and out of the way. I've been so behind lately but this should be my new Sunday routine because it feels good going into the week prepared. I really want to find a morning routine that is productive and gives me energy. Do you have any tips or ideas?

What would you share with me if we were on a coffee date?

Monday Mantra

Goals
I feel like right now is the perfect time for me to detox everything in my life; especially physical clutter and my mind so I'm going to make weekly goals. I've even started a weekly inspiration + goals
Pinterest board. You can follow along and see what my goals are each week, if you'd like.

I'm going to start small with five goals I want to achieve this week.

+ Spend ZERO $. Other than on gas in my Jeep and mailing a package off.

+ Finish my tee shirt orders and get them delivered.

+ Start putting together my newsletter.

+ Read one chapter a day in Girl Boss or Note To Self.

+ Spend one evening snuggled on the couch, watching a movie with my hubby sans tech devices like we used to do when we were dating.

I know these goals seem super easy but in all actuality, they are things I struggle with. I've been guilty of spending money on totally un-necessary things. I see a lipstick or nail polish I want, I buy it or if I want Chick Fil A for lunch, I get it. These are small things but they do add up and we're in a season of life where we need to start being more frugal and learning to save.

Those tee shirt orders just need to be done and delivered. My newsletter was something I never really thought about before until a new reader told me she found my blog and was trying to sign up to my newsletter and was having a hard time. It was an eye opening thing to tell her I didn't have a newsletter yet. It made me see that someone would sign up for it so I need to get it done. Both of these things are going to boost my dreams of future business endeavors so why not invest in them?

I've been trying to read Girl Boss and Note To Self for months now. I enjoy reading, I just never take the time to do it so it's time to step away from technology in the afternoons and read. And as for the movie and cuddling with my hubby. That goes without saying. We just get so busy and exhausted that in the evenings we are either still running around like crazy or snoozing away on opposite couches/chairs with a dog in between. I kinda miss that dating feeling. Okay, I miss it a lot. It's time to invest in not only "me time" but "us time" again.

What are some goals you'd like to achieve this week?

Oh Hey, Friday!

Friday has finally graced us with its presence y'all and this lady couldn't be more happy. This week has been long and rough so i'm planning a calm, relaxing weekend where I can work on blog content and wear nothing but sweats. Sounds totally do able, right? A wife/mama can only hope because it's what I need. But first, grab a cup of coffee and get cozy with me because i'm going to talk Good Week/Bad Week, Instagram Goodness, Coffee & Blogs Posts and my favorite internet finds from the week.

Oh Hey, Friday!

Good Week/Bad Week

Good Week-My son had awards Monday for 8th grade. He's in all gifted classes and made the A/B honor roll again this year. This kid, y'all, he's not only smart but he's fun and silly and kind and caring. He makes my heart proud and soon he'll be off to high school.

Bad Week-I can't stay awake for the life of me and i've been all kinds of ill because of it. I have no idea what's going on with me because I never feel like this unless i'm sick but i'm not sick. It's a little frustrating but i'll keep pushing through, one cup of coffee at a time.

Favorite Make Up Products

Hi Loves! Remember this post from Instagram last week?

I asked and you all said YES! You wanted to see my favorite make up products. Bonus is that most of them are under $10 and can be bought at Target or CVS.

So let's get glam today, beauties.

Primers & Moisturizers

+Coola ER Fresh Relief Face Serum $68.00
I know I said most of these products are under $10 and the first one I start off with is 6xs that much but this is not just a moisturizer. It repairs a multitude of flaws caused my the environment. It's an anti-inflammatory moisturizer that nourishes damaged skin while protecting it from other harmful pollutants and sun. It is well worth the splurge. Since I started using it about two months ago, my skin looks brighter and the redness is starting to even out.

+Soap and Glory Daily Youth Moisturizer $12.99

+Wet n Wild Picture Perfect Eyeshadow Primer $4.79

Face

+NYX BB Cream $8.99

+ELF HD Powder $5.49

+BareMinerals Faux Tan All Over $21.00

+Essence Glitter in the Air (I can't find this product on the Target web site or the essence site so it seems it might be discontinued). By the looks of mine, i'll be looking for a replacement soon.

+Soap and Glory Peach Party Blush Brick $12.99

+Wet n Wild MegaGlo Make Up Stick in Peach Bums $3.99

+Wet n Wild MegaGlo Make Up Stick in When the Nude Strikes $3.99

+EssencePure Nude Concealer $3.49

+ELF Beautifully Bare Total Face Palette $8.00

Eyes

+ Tarte Swamp Queen Palette $45.00
This is definitely a splurge but it is so worth it. I love the colors, they're bright and bold but there are a few softer colors, too.

+Ellen Tracy Palette (I can't find this anywhere on line to link to. I found mine at Marshall's for $6.99). If you can find this palette, it's definitely one to snag because the colors are soft but bright and very pretty. This one is a daily "go to" for me.

+W7 Color Me Nude Palette $12.95
This was another Marshall's steal for me at $6.99. Marshall's and TJ Maxx are great places to find in-expensive palettes like these.

+Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara $4.99

+Perfectly Posh Lash Pop is officially retired but my girl Kristen is keeping her eyes open for this product. If it becomes available again she'll let us know! (fingers crossed)

Lippies

+Wet n Wild Silk finish Lipstick in A Short Affair $1.49

+NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa $5.99

+NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sydney $5.99

+Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Candy Queen $8.99

+Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in Adorable $7.99

+Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in Precious $7.99

So dolls, you have my holy grail make up products. Should we do beauty products next?

Spring Nails with Trust Fund Beauty

Nail polish is one of my favorite essentials. I'm obsessed with it. In fact, I have two plastic bins full of all the pretty colors but can't seem to stop buying more. Lately i've been really loving the neutrals so I knew I had to snag the rude nudes #2 minis from Trust Fund Beauty.

Not only are they such pretty, light, feminine colors; they last so long, too. I wear them for a week with minimal chipping and that's a huge win for me because my nails usually chip within two days of me painting them.

Trust Fund Beauty products are made in the United States and Europe and they're vegan and cruelty free. They have a huge variety of pretty, bold, feminine, flirty and fun colors so if your nails need a little pop of brightness for spring and summer head over to Trust Fund Beaty's website and treat yourself!
