Road Trip Playlist

Hi Peachies! I wanted to share my Road Trip Play List with you today! I've been reading some awesome road trip posts from car rental company Turo
and was inspired to share my essential road trip playlist with you.

Road trips are my favorites. My family and I have been road trippin' since I was a child. There are many memories of my brothers and I in the back seat of my Dad's truck, playing cards and other games, including Punch Bug & Popeye. There was the one trip where we were stuck behind a semi for hours on end in a traffic jam and my mom was making shadows out our window on to the semi to keep us entertained. Then there was the vacation where my dad pulled over the mustang and unloaded all three of us from the back seat and gave us spankings then packed us back in and on our way we went. That bridge on the way to Panama City, Florida still makes me shudder every time we pass under it.

Last September my hubby & I packed up our Jeep, checked our son out of school and headed to Panama City, Florida o get married. That was my favorite road trip of all time for obvious reasons.

I love being in one vehicle with a mountain of our belongings, headed out on a trip. I usually love my space but there's something about being in a car with the people I love for hours on end that actually excited me. I'm weird, I know. Most people hate the traveling part.

One of the essentials for a road trip is good music. Now days, with apps like Spotify, you can make your own playlist and jam out all the way to your destination.

Windows down, hair up, and music blasting while you and your travel companions eat bad gas station snacks and sing off key is just so much fun so go get yourself a snack and a drink and jam out with this road trip playlist.

I like a little bit of everything but these are my favorite road trip jams.

What songs would you add to already awesome playlist to make it even better?

10 Things {I Love About My Husband Being Off Work}

Hi Peachies! Y'all may have noticed my absence from my blog sweet blog lately. And Snapchat. And Instagram. I would apologize except I'm kinda not sorry because my husband was off work Friday & Monday so we spent an extra long weekend together and I enjoyed every minute of it. He hasn't done that since our wedding and honeymoon last September/October.

So in honor of his time off today's 10 is all about why I love my husband being off work.

But First! Here's the info on this fun link up with Karli Bell from September Farms.
Here's how it works:

1 | draft your 10 on Tuesday list. it can be a list about anything. you can explain your list. or you don't have to. it could be your grocery list. your cleaning list. or a list about your top 10 pet peeves. but a list, nonetheless. k? k.

2 | grab the super snazzy button below and insert the HTML code into the HTML section of your blog. this will automatically make that pretty picture a hyperlink so that everyone knows where you're linking up at!

3 | link up below!

10 Things {I Love About My Husband Being Off Work}

1. Sleep.
Oh how I sleep so much better with my husband snuggled up next to me.
Since he's up around 4 every morning, it's nice to enjoy those extra hours snuggled up together.

2. Coffee.
I've bragged about how much better coffee is when he makes it but usually I only get to enjoy it on the weekends.
This week I was spoiled with coffee made by him 4 days in a row! That was the best.

3. Driving.
As in, I didn't have to for four whole days!
Well, except when I went to the mall on my own yesterday.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I am spoiled.

4. Dates.
Day time dates to be exact.
I'm not one to turn down a date with my hubby at all but daytime dates are so much fun.
Maybe because they're a rare treat but we enjoyed lunch at our local Farmer's Table/Market Friday.
They've just expanded and added a cafe that serves the most amazing sandwiches ever.
We ate, talked and dreamed about what's to come in our lives and picked up some fresh, local produce, too!

5. Willow.
She enjoyed her daddy time so much! She napped with him & sat outside with him while he grilled out for us.
Basically anywhere he went, so did she and while I love her so much it was nice to have a little help in the daytime with her.

6. Dreaming.
We spent a lot of time sitting around together daydreaming about our future.
It's been a while since we've done that so it was really nice.

7. Cooking Out.
Sunday my love spent the day smoking ribs for us for dinner.
He made them Carolina style and they were mouth watering good.
Yesterday we spent the evening at my parent's house cooking out burgers and hotdogs.
Something we rarely get to do with them during the week because of work.

8. No Phone Calls.
I love my husband and am so thankful that he's a hard worker and has a pretty incredible job
but it was nice that he didn't have to answer phone calls about work for those 4 days.
We were able to really relax and enjoy time together.

9. Outside.
The weather was incredible-sunny & in the 80's so we spent a lot of time outside.
We laid in the hammock with Willow running around us, we sat on the back porch,
And we explored the woods and did a lot of walking. It was just an incredible weekend.

10. Food.
Umm, yeah, so if my Beachbody Coach is reading this part-I'm sorry.
We ate so much good food. We ate fancy sandwiches, Waffle House, ribs, burgers, & Chick fil A.
It was good but I'm needing veggies in my life now.

It was an amazing long weekend for us. I feel so refreshed, relaxed and reconnected. Even though we didn't go anywhere, it felt like a mini vacation. I didn't care about keeping the house spotless or even meal planning and grocery shopping. I just enjoyed time with my love, our kiddo and our puppy. We even spent quality time with both sets of parents and I couldn't be happier. Sometimes we just need time to "be" with the ones we love.

I encourage all of you to take time away. Step away from the chores and social media and just "be" with your loved ones.
You'll be thankful that you did.

Happy Tuesday.

10 Things {About Our Love Story}

Aloha Peachies! Welcome to my blog sweet blog. Today's post is a super fun one. It's time for 10 on Tuesday with the sweet, energetic, and inspiring Karli Bell from September Farms. So cheers to that!

We all love a good love story, right? So go pour yourself a glass of sweet tea, kick off your shoes,
and get comfy while I tell you about the greatest love story in the history of ever.

Mine and my Hubby's Love Story, of course.

10 Things About Our Love Story

1. We met the summer after high school at a mutual friend's house.
I thought he was the best looking guy i'd ever laid eyes on.
He was always so nice and gave the best hugs.
Plus he smelled really good.

2. Life happened and we never dated but we stayed friends for 13 years.
Best friends. Bless him. He was always my go to man when it came to needing a shoulder
to cry on because my boyfriend did something that hurt me or I needed advice from a man's perspective.

3. He would also come over to fix my parent's computer from time to time.

4. One day he called me and said he was getting divorced. I listened and was his shoulder to cry on during that time.
But the day he called me and said he got another girl's # and was thinking about going out with her was the day I
became suddenly single.

5. I literally said "hold on, I have something to go do. I'll call you back," When I called him back I was single.
I knew I wasn't happy with the guy I was with. Dear Heavens. But I did know that I wanted to make myself
available in case he wanted to take our friendship to the next level. Casually I suggested we go out to dinner soon.

6. The next night we were out on a friend date. I honestly had no intentions of it being anything more.
We were sitting at dinner at O'Charley's when he told me that he was thinking about moving to
South Carolina. Suddenly I found myself feeling things I never expected to feel. I felt like my chances went
out the window. I was heartbroken.

7. After dinner we went to his house to watch a movie. I felt comfortable but in a way I had never perviously felt with
him or anyone else before. I laid my head in his lap as we watched he movie and he held my hand.
Still, I was oblivious as to what was going on here.

8. He dropped me off at home that night and gave me one of those hugs that I loved so much.
Then he did something unexpected! He kissed me. I'm not sure what happened next.
I was in it all the way at that point.

9. Almost a year later he proposed to me in our living room in front of our first Christmas tree.

10. Another year and nine months later we got married on the beach in Panama City, Florida.
6 months later we're living our happily ever after.

Week 16: You May Not Know

Hi Peachies! Happy Monday! It's one of my favorite blogging days because of this awesome 52 Week Challenge
with one of my blogger besties, Sarah from Sarah Emily Blogs and
Ashley from Girl Talk.
This link up is such a fun way to start the week off.

Today's prompt is {Week 16: You May Not Know.}

+ If I find a piece of clothing I love I have to buy it in every color!
I have 6 Target tee's//same style/different colors!

+ I'm pretty quiet in big groups. I used to be painfully shy, even through high school.

+ I have serious 'Dog Mom' guilt. I feel awful for getting on to her and even worse when
I have to leave her in her crate while I'm out of the house. Proof that dogs are people, too!

+ My blog will never have a niche and my Instagram will never have a perfect aesthetic.
Both of these places are reflections of my real life!

+ I'm obsessed with quaint, little old towns.
You know, the historic downtown areas of these towns filled with
adorable homes, cute boutiques, and little cafes and coffee shops.

+ I'm obsessed with lip products and nail polishes.
I can't go into a store without buying these things.

+ I always fear that I haven't un-plugged my curling iron or hot iron.
I've even turned around and gone home just to double check.

+ I love going to my favorite websites and filling my shopping basket full of the items I want.
I don't buy it. I just want to see how much my wish list costs!

+ I have an un-canny fear of lizards and frogs.

+ I'm a sucker for fairs and festivals. Especially the ones that sell handmade crafty pretties.

+ When i'm feeling sad Target is my "go-to" happy place.
Once I get inside i'm instantly happy.

+ My hubby says my idea of "roughing it" is dirty sheets and no coffee creamer. And he isn't wrong!

+ I love having my family together in our Jeep,
packed full of bags and headed out on a road trip.
It's hours of endless conversations and laughter.

+ I love peach flavored and scented everything but don't eat peaches unless they're cooked into something.

Since this is all about things you may not know about me...ask me a question. Anything at all and i'll answer!

Link-up with Sarah Emily Blogs and Girl Talk Blog every Monday for the 52 week blogger challenge!

Rules for the Link-up
1. follow the prompts exactly or put your own spin on them
2. make sure to add our button to your post and link up with us

Oh Hey, Friday! {Make Up, #SimplyStyledApril, Target, Podcasts, & Posts}

Hey Peachies! Welcome to Procrastination Station. I mean, my blog sweet blog. It's finally Friday and all I can say is Hallelujah! It's been our first week back after Spring Break and it's been a real doozy. The weather has been bi-polar, too so that doesn't help. One day it's a sunny 75 & the next it's a cool 50. Today though. Today alone i've changed clothes no less than 3 times because Mother Nature isn't making up her mind. All I want to do is snuggle up with a blanket and nap.
There is a bright spot in today though, aside from it being thisclose to the weekend.
It's time to link up with Karli from September Farm for Oh Hey, Friday!

Here's how it goes.

You can join or just check out her fabulous blog. If you do you should read it from start to finish, you're sure to laugh, smile, and nod in agreeance the whole way through. She's a bubbly, gem of a person & that's just what I know from her blog. She keeps life real.

How does this link up work?

1. Well first off you list 5 things. They can be as random as you want or all about one subject, there are no real rules here.
2. You link up your post at the bottom of hers, not mine. I'm not that fancy.
3. Then you grab the button, from below & add it to yours.
4. Then you spread the word about your blog, her blog, and everyone else's you want.
(I added that part-duh!)

5 Things.

1. I'm currently obsessed with this new Rose Gold ELF eyeshadow palette and my older Physician's Formula Nudes one.
I'm all about peachy and nudes right now so these two are perfection.

2. I'm loving Lindsay's #SimplyStyledApril Instagram Challenge.

These are a couple of my Instagram Snaps from it.

3. Target Dollar Spot. It's no secret that i'm obsessed with this little piece of retail Heaven.
It's like it just gets me.
All the cuteness for $5 and under (typically).
Can we talk about how adorable this gold heart mug is? And it was a big fat $3.

4. I love podcasts. As in, am obsessed with them. My favorites are Jess Lively and Mavenly+Co but I just found The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey and am obsessed. I just listened to episode #2 with Jen Hatmaker and was so inspired. This one is now on my saved list of podcasts. Which, by the way, I just figure out how to do!

5. Lastly, are my posts for the week. I wasn't really feeling it this week so there's a whopping two posts for y'all.
Sorry. Life won this week.
Week 15 {Instagram Round Up}
10 Things {Thoughts I'm Having Right Now}

In the words of the Golden Girls. Thank You for being a friend.
Even through the week after Spring Break when life is hard.
It's just hard y'all.

Happy Fri-YAY! Let's go grab some drinks!

10 Things {Thought I'm Having Right Now}

Hey Peachies! I'm going to cut right to the chase today because it's already 1:28 and I have to leave in an hour to get my son from school. It's only Tuesday and this week is already kicking my booty, probably because last week was Spring Break. Enough about that though because it's time for 10 on Tuesday with the sweet, energetic, and inspiring Karli Bell from September Farms. So cheers to that!

10 Thoughts I'm Having Right Now.

1. Why is the dog acting like she's a cat on a sugar high?
Oh, because she's on an antihistamine gel that makes her cray-zee.
She's running around the living room and jumping on the furniture,
destroying her toy box and eating her bull horn on the back
of the couch.

2. Sun, either come out and stay out or go away.
You're really toying with me today playing hide and seek.

3. I wonder if I can get out of cooking dinner tonight?
That would be the third time i've had stuff ready for
tacos and didn't make them in two weeks though.
So no, probably not.

4. I wonder if I can take a nap at my mom and dad's house after I get my buddy from school?
I think i'll go snuggle in my bed there, with my Chance cat and just sleep.

5. Target. I love you. I visited you three times in three days.
That's a new personal record.
You just get me. You and your dollar spot.

6. I can't wait to try the Miss Meyer's Peony cleaner and
the JR Watkins multi surface Coconut cleaner I just bought at Target.
I had grand plans for today then I sat down on the couch.

7. Folding laundry as I pull it out of the dryer is the greatest thing i've ever thought of.
I feel like I'm spending 1/2 the time I used to doing laundry.

8. Dog. At what point will you understand that the "puppy" in the fireplace is your reflection and stop trying to attack her?

9. I just heard on The Happy Hour podcast that Jen Hatmaker is getting a show on HGTV.
How do I get a show on HGTV?
Would anyone watch it?
A film crew could follow us around while my family and I would have endless glasses of wine
and puppy playing time with our friends
while the men grilled.
Oh, and naps. Lots of naps.
Yeah, that would probably not be a fun show to watch.

10. Basically this.
I hope when my husband gets home tonight he just throws chocolate at me and tells me i'm pretty. Not really. But kinda.
It would be nice if he snuggles with me on the couch and lets me fall asleep drooling on him.
True story. Every night.
That's how I know it's true love.
I win at life today because the dog & I survived. The kid, too and that's a huge accomplishment since I had zero energy and
a monster sized headache. Oh, and I gave the dog her cray-zee meds all on my own.
I didn't wait on my hubby to get home which means
by the time he gets home she'll be an angel. You're welcome honey.

and this my friends, is how you pop out a post in an hour. Nice talk friends. Thanks for sticking around even on the not so good days.

Currently {Willow}

Hi Peachies! Welcome back to my blog sweet blog. Today's post is extra special because it's all about our sweet Willow pup.
How can you resist that face? We have a hard time. She's our sweet and wild, crazy girl.

She stole my heart on Facebook when our local pet store posted a picture of a puppy they had rescued and needed a home.
It just happened that this was days before my birthday and Valentine's Day!
My mom had no idea I was buttering my hubby up to get her when she went in the store to buy dog food for her dogs and came out fostering this sweet little scared pup.

Everyday after school my son and I go by my mom and dad's house so we saw her that day and took lots of pics to show my hubby.
Later that night I casually brought up the puppy I shared on Facebook and how mom was fostering her now.
I asked if we could have her?
His response was, i'll think about it.

So Tuesday we were at my mom and dad's house after school again but this time,
when we got ready to leave, my car wouldn't start.
My hubby had to come over after work to help my dad work on my car.
That's when he fell in love with her, too but it still took some convincing to let us have her.
When we were laying in bed that night I asked what he thought of her.
He said "she's cute" so again, I asked-can we have her?
"I'll think about it" was his response again.
But the next morning he called from work and said "I've thought about it.
You can have her. Happy Birthday."
And she came home with us that night and lives happily ever after.

It's been a while since I did Willow's Currently so it's time to catch up with her.
You can check out her previous two posts:
Meet Willow
Currently Willow

Name: Willow

Nicknames: Wild Child, Little Miss

Age: 4 months

Weight: 35 lbs

Breed: Mastiff/ German Shepard Mix

Highlights: Running free with the other dogs at Mimi & Pa's house this week.
My parents live in the woods and have 4 other dogs right now and Willow was the only one who had to be leashed until this week.
We've all been spending a lot of time outside this week and letting her run free.
She stays in the yard with everyone else!

And she tells on herself if she gets into something she's not supposed to have by barking at it.

Lows: She ate a ThermaCare wrap out of the trash can a couple weeks ago. We had no idea what to do so we called our vet and he said "In all my years i've never had this happen."
That's not a good sign but between he, my husband & I we figured it out.
Let's just say it wasn't pretty but it saved us a trip to the emergency vet.

We also learned that puppies with short hair around 4 months old often get mites. Guess what she has? Mites! They're not contagious and you can't see them. In fact, the vet must know me well or saw my face of sheer terror when he said that because he said "you don't have to throw away bedding." Good thing since she sleeps in our bed. She was so itchy and her fur was missing in some places. Now that she's on antibiotics and a gel medicine she's getting so much better.

Loves: Being outside, rough housing with her Dad, sleeping, watching tv and running free.

Dislikes: Taking medicine, essential oils & the Swiffer.

Favorite Toy: She still loves her stuffless owl. He's been in surgery several times now.

Favorite Treats: Bull horns, lamb bones, bully sticks and deer antlers.

Best Friend: Drago; my mom's 1 year old German Shepard and Lola, the German Shepard puppy my mom and dad are taking care of for a little bit.

10 Things {Dear Self}

Hi Peachies! Happy Tuesday! It's one of my favorite post days because it's like celebrating the fact that I survived Monday because I get to link up with the adorable, bubbly, and sweet Karli Bell from September Farms has come up with another brilliant link up called 10 on Tuesday. So cheers to that!

Today i'm posting a little bit of an all about me 10 Things because I need it. We can all cheer ourselves on from time to time, right? I think so, if it's a once in a while kind of thing. So today friends, I'm being self indulgent and cheering myself on.

10 Things

Dear Self,

1. You do a damn good job of getting the kid up, ready for school and out the door on time daily.
It's not easy for either of you since neither of you are morning people.

2. Remember what your Grandma says, "Leslie's pretty quiet but when she says something it's usually hilarious."
In my family I am usually the quiet one (because I don't like yelling over everyone else to be heard) but when I open my mouth
funny just comes out. Usually I don't even realize how funny it is until everyone is laughing with tears in their eyes.

3. You love hard. Yes, this is just as bad as it is good but it's just the way you are. Never change. Keep loving hard.

4. Never forget why you fell in love with your husband. He's smart, he's funny, he's extremely good looking. All the women fall over him but he chose you. More importantly, he's always got your back and he knows when to feed you and tell you you're pretty.

5. You can make friends with almost anyone. Remember that time you were shopping at Ulta and the cashier told you that you were so bubbly and happy? Or the time you were at America's Best and you struck up a conversation with the guy who was working there about puppies and the trouble they got into? You made your son feel better about getting his glasses chewed up, too.

6. You're a pretty great cook, too. Minus the pledge soup you made and the citrus prime rib. Just remember not to cook anything citrus.

7. You're learning it's okay to say no sometimes and that's okay. It doesn't mean you don't love the person or the thing you had to say no to, it just means you're learning how to balance things and take care of yourself.

8. You do a great job of choosing happy and trying to spread the word to everyone else. You've also learned, as much as it breaks your heart, that you can't get through to everyone. Some people have chosen to only see the negative but you're going to keep shining and spreading happiness. They'll catch up someday.

9. You've done a pretty great job of establishing a routine and sticking to it. Life is just easier that way but in the season you're in right now, you've got to learn to adapt and make changes to that routine. Allow time for working out and focusing on your 21 day challenge and allow time to disconnect from everything except your husband and son in the evenings. Trust me, you'll be thankful for that.

10. You're great at cleaning and doing laundry but stop standing in your own way. You've got the chance to make your jewelry and start selling it. Start focusing on accomplishing that goal instead. You've got everything you need to do this. The messy house and piles of laundry will wait.

So that was all over the place. If you made it through then congratulations and cheers to you!

Oh, Hey Friday!

Hey Peachies! Welcome to my blog sweet blog. It's our favorite day of the week because...
Hello, Fi-YAY! Need I say more?

Of course Fridays are my favorites for another reason, too.

With wedding season upon us, I thought it would be fun to do a girly Five Dresses for spring wedding season post.

Go pour yourself a glass of sweet tea or wine and come sit with me and look at all these drool worthy dresses.
Most of which I'll never own because, well, some are simply a splurge I just can't justify but we can all dream, right?!?

Some of the images are smaller than others even though i've set them to the same size.
We're just calling it a Friday imperfection.
Even the blog is tired of working, apparently.

But check out these beauties.

Medallion Fly Away Maxi Altar'd State $79.95

Seeing Blue Maxi Altar'd State $69.95 Altar'd State $79.95

East River Dress Anthropologie $138.00

Livia Maxi Dress Anthropologie $188.00

Molly Ruffle Francesca's $48.00

Which one are you swooning over?
