That time I was featured on a blog...

Hi again. I hope you're all having a wonderful week so far. I am now that I've had a day to myself, to clean and regroup. I need that sometimes. My week started out full of disappointment and yucky dr's appts that had me in a bit of a funk but it's all good now. It's Wednesday, i've got the house cleaned, a couple windows open to let some fresh air in, candles lit and a Beach Day playlist going on my laptop. Life is good.
Sunday I got some wonderful news. A few months ago I had submitted a post for a blogger I came across called Operation Beautiful. I haven't heard anything about it lately so I figured it was a no go. No hard feelings, I just let it go but then Sunday I got an e-mail from Erica saying thank you for the submission and the post had gone live! YAY!! That's pretty exciting stuff but I was in the middle of something then got tied up in other things for the rest of the week and forgot about it. This morning I woke up and checked my google account-there it was! I just had to share with you so here it is.

I hope you have a beautiful day!

Weekending.

Hey Ya'll! It's Tuesday, we're slowly making it through this week :) I was busy yesterday, I had my dress fitting to get it altered yesterday! YAY! 3 weeks and it'll be forever mine & you may find me sitting around like this on any given day.

Anyway, it's time for the weekend wrap up. Our weekend was jam packed since my honey was off on Friday we had a 3 day weekend! How could you not be excited about that!?!

Friday We had plans to go to Trader Joe's and the huge Academy Sports that's about an hour away. It was a nice day, just the two of us & we shopped til we dropped. I got all my favorite things at Trader Joe's. Coffee, Cookie Butter, flowers, macaroons (which turns out they're addicting), & Peanut Butter Jelly Chocolate Bars.

When we went to pick our buddy up from his Mimi and Pa's we picked up Minnie Mouse and let her spend the night, too.

Saturday was the 4th of July and we had plans to go swimming and cook out at my parent's house but it was storming something fierce so Mom cancelled. My love and I made brunch-coconut pancakes, bacon, and fruit then took a nap. I woke up to my mom texting saying it was sunny so we could still cook out and swim if we wanted to. We got up, made more bacon (for pasta salad), got ready then my love took our buddy to buy fireworks. They returned home with a pretty impressive amount of them, too. We packed the car and headed to my parent's house for the night.

We made hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, pasta salad and I made a pecan pie bread pudding that was the hit of the party!!
We shot off fireworks and laughed hysterically at our Bella. She was trying to eat the fireworks so we had to put her on a rope in the front yard with us. Most dogs are terrified of them, not our girl. She watched and tried to chase them, she even barked when they'd burn out. I think it's safe to say a fun time was had by all.

Sundaywe took our buddy to see the new Jurassic Park movie. He's been into dinosaurs since I can remember but now that he's older he's more in depth with them. He researches them for fun! I can't say I ever researched anything for fun. Needless to say he was really into it. I thought it was pretty awesome, too so it was a win for everyone! The rest of the day was spent at home, just relaxing.

So that was our weekend. I hope you all had a fantastic week, as well and that your week is off to an amazing start!"post signature

Full Heart.

This last week has been a week full of nothingness. It's been the kind of week that wasn't Instagram worthy or blog worthy. I've done nothing spectacular. I've taken time out and just been me. There's been no running around like a mad woman, in fact we've barely left the house. You'd think my house would be spotless then, right? No. It's not. It's picked up, it's clean and neat but it's not spotless. It's a home that's loved in and lived in. It's comfy, cozy, and full of us. The three of us. Myself, My Fiance, and our son.

There's a printer set up on the kitchen table because I'm still piecing together wedding invites. There's a couch full of bags from all of our running in and out. There's a box of wedding invites in the floor, ready at a moment's notice when I remember we forgot to slip one in the mail to someone. There's a stack of magazines in the decorative tray on the coffee table that i'm months behind on. The to do list on the side of the fridge has notes as simple as iron a's work clothes. My 31 bag is full of jewelry making supplies & sitting by the fireplace because I might want to make something at a moment's notice.

Right now i'm sitting on the couch, typing this. The t.v. is on Dr. Phil but it's muted, it's probably about someone else's family dysfunction that I really don't want to hear about. I'm tired of putting garbage and negativity into my life. I could change the channel to HGTV or something i'd be interested in but then I'd be interested in it and lose focus here. Here is where I need to be right now. Here, listening to my own heart. Letting go of things that don't really matter like t.v. and cleaning house.

This week hasn't been a bad week by any stretch of the imagination. I have more in my life to be happy for and blessed by than a lot of others do & i'm not taking that for granted but i've been in a funk. A sleep until 9-9:15 every day but still want to spend all day in my pajamas, funk. I did that Wednesday. I didn't mean to, it just happened. I sat down on the couch and found the Sex in the City movie was just coming on. This was at noon. It sucked me in until 3, when it went off by then it was time to do another load of laundry and figure out dinner since my love would be home soon. My favorite time of day has always been when he walks through the door in the afternoons but this last week it's especially been my favorite. I feel complete when he's home with me. I feel like nothing else matters. I realized yesterday that we had 86 days until we're married! I can't even begin to tell you how happy that makes me. It's the butterflies kind.

Last night as we were laying in bed, him drifting off, me wide awake listening to him breathing and thinking about how lucky I am, I realized I have a full heart. I have more blessings than I ever thought possible and that's enough for me. I said, out loud, "I can't believe we only have 86 days until we're married." In his sleepy haze he whispered "85" because it was almost midnight.

I've realized, this week. That it's okay to take time for me and to take a breather every now and then. To remember who I am and what I love because when I do, I find that I fall in love with life all over again and this life is a pretty amazing thing when I stop to think about it. I'm up on cloud 9 right now and I'm not coming down for a while.

Weekending.

Hi Y'all. Welcome to another Monday. Our weekend was a whirlwind, it seemed, but it was a very productive one.

Fridaywe just stayed home and ordered Chinese Food. It was a perfect, lazy evening.

Saturdaywe had planned to stay home and stain our porches & hammock stand and do some planting. It's June and we don't have a garden. Fail! Every weekend we plan on doing these things we either have a zillion and one places to go or it rains. This weekend, guess what? Rain! We decided though, that we'd spend the day registering for wedding gifts. After 7 hours and 3 stores later, we're all registered!

I've never met people who are as nice as the ones who have helped me every step of the way in my wedding planning. The ladies helping us register were no exception.

Rabekah @ Bed, Bath & Beyond was fabulous. She was supposed to be getting off work when we showed up. She could have easily told us that her shift was over and could we come back but she didn't. She stayed with us for 3 hours and let us scan away, answering any questions we had and giving us a wealth of knowledge on everything from pillows to towels to kitchen gadgets. We didn't feel rushed by her at all. I'll definitely be taking her some kind of treat after this is all said and done because she was fabulous.

Next up was Mrs. Sidney at Macy's. We kind got thrown on her because, when we walked up to register, the lady we found's shift was over. She wasn't like Rabekah, she was so gone. She helped us set up the scanner and introduced us to Mrs. Sidney. We scanned happy again and when we were done we found Mrs. Sidney and she helped us out. At first she was a little ill, not with us or at us, but at the fact that the other lady left in a rush and didn't give us the special Bridal Folder full of goodies and that the scanner died on us and there wasn't a back up handy or any batteries but she handled it all like a classy, sweet lady. We sat and talked to her for a while, she was asking about our wedding. I told her that nothing really mattered because at the end of the day I would be marrying my best friend with our closest family and friends by our side. She smiled and said "I would have been married for 50 years on the 4th of July. My husband passed away in 2013. You said something important, you're marrying you're best friend. Make sure you always stay best friends. Always communicate & talk to each other." I teared up at this lady, whom we'd just met's, touching words of advice. It's something i'll always treasure. I'll always remember that day with a happiness in my heart. I asked for her number because if I have any problems or questions she's the one i'll be calling.

Sunday was grocery shopping day so after we got ready we headed to the store in my car. When we got to the store my love noticed my tire was leaking so we got back in the car and drove home so he could put more air in my tire. Once we got home, upon further inspection, he noticed there was a nail in it. We spent the next hour or so getting that patched up and ready to go then it was grocery shopping time. Nothing fancy or exciting but it was fun to be together. I'm so lucky to be marrying someone who makes even the most mundane things fun.

I did get to use my new 31 large utility totes for grocery shopping.

Then we headed to mom and dad's for the afternoon. My honey helped my dad change the blades on his lawnmower. When we were done we came home, took a nap, then fixed dinner together :) Then we ended the night by standing outside talking to our wonderful neighbors.

So that's our weekend! I hope you all had a wonderful one, too.

Happy Monday, Loves!
