Heartmade By Emily

Hi Sweet Friends! Welcome to another Shop Small Feature. Y'all know these are my heart and soul because I love cheering other fabulous ladies on and watching them succeed. Today I get the pleasure of featuring one of my favorite Etsy shops. I hope you enjoy this Q&A session with Emily from Heartmade By Emily.
Hello Emily. Welcome to my blog sweet blog.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a thirty-something attorney turned work at home mom (WAHM). I married my Mr. Wonderful 5 years ago, and I am a mommy to an amazing 3 year-old girl, a 5 year-old Shar Pei mix (can’t leave out the furbaby!), with a sweet baby boy on the way. I am completely coffee obsessed, and you can always find me in the kitchen baking up something fattening and delicious!
How did you pick your Etsy name?
Heartmade By Emily is just a name that popped up when I started making crochet items for close friends and family. I tried to be super cutesy and think up something more official and catchy, but this stuck. So I rolled with it!
What inspired you to open your Etsy shop?
I’ve been crafting and crocheting my entire life.
A friend of mine loved these coffee cozies I gave out for Christmas 2 years ago and jokingly said,
“Youshould sell these!” I honestly didn’t give it much though and opened my shop on a whim.
Let’s just say it’s been a learning experience!
What makes you most excited about owning your shop?
I love being a boss lady! Although its definitely had its challenges, I really enjoy the creative process. It’s exciting to make something that other people love. Running a shop and having a creative business are so different from my prior career. I think what I am most excited about is that I get to stay home with my kids while contributing financially to our household.
What inspires you to create new products?
A lot of my motivation in the creative process is based on seasons and current trends. With regard to coffee cozies, there are so many different embellishment options, that the challenge is really limiting and choosing designs that I think my customers would like most. I am also really inspired by the seasons. Fall and Winter are hugely creative times for me because they naturally scream warm and cozy. Summer is a bit tougher, but I feel like I can have more fun with cozy colors and outrageous embellishments.
What is your favorite item in your shop?
I love all of my button cozies! I have over 60 cozy styles available, but I love a simple button cozy. They are classic, come in a ton of colors, and can really match any outfit or vibe you’re feeling. Love a button cozy!
What is your best selling item in your shop?
Aside from Christmas themed cozies, the best selling items are our “Momma Needs Coffee” cozy and our Mint + Glitter Bow cozy.
Can you share any sneak peaks of items coming soon?
I’m currently rolling out all of my spring themed coffee cozies. I’m due any day now so I’m trying to get a jump on production and make everything available now to avoid any delay in shipping, etc. I pride myself on having a “ready to ship” shop because nobody likes waiting for their happy mail! I’ve just launched a Spring Linen Collection of soft, feminine, floral cozy styles. I have a few Disney and St. Patrick’s Day themed cozies in the works as well!
Do you have any special promotions currently?
I am always running fabulous coupon codes and flash sales on my shop Instagram {@HeartmadeByEmily}. Follow the shop and stay up to date with all the great upcoming promotions!
Thank you Emily for stopping by and sharing all about your lovely Etsy shop with us. I am loving your products whole heartedly! To see all of the fabulous products I have from Emily be sure to check out my Instagram and stop by her Etsy shop to grab yourself one (or ten) of her gorgeous cozies. I promise, you'll want them all. My husband laughs at my drawer full.
Christmas Shop Small {Mama Designed}
Thursday, December 1, 2016
Hi Peachies! Happy Thursday! Is it me or is this the longest week ever? I have zero motivation after Thanksgiving week.
All I want to do is snuggle up and sleep. I have zero energy. Of course the rainy weather hasn't helped but we sure have needed it so i'm actually enjoying it with the windows open, candles lit, CMT music on the tv and only the soft glow of the lights from the Christmas tree.
I've been giving myself so much grace this week because i've needed it. The house is decorated for Christmas but there are are still six Christmas boxes in my kitchen, living room, and on the front porch that need to be put away. Usually this would make me a crazy person but right now I'm honestly too tired to care. I'm enjoying days like these and evenings snuggled in watching tv with my loves.
Do you know what else i'm enjoying? The Christmas Shop Small feature i've been hosting.
It has been so much fun for me to combine my passions of Christmas and shopping small to show off some of my fabulous friend's talents and small businesses. Today's featured lady is my sweet friend, Ashley from Mama Designed. She has the cutest printable signs ever! I'm obsessed and have quiet a few on my wish list.
So get cozy and let's chat with Ashley.

Christmas Shop Small {Showered With Design}
Tuesday, November 8, 2016
Hi Peachies! If there are two things I love it is Christmas and supporting small businesses. I have a very soft spot in my heart for supporting small businesses so this year for the holiday season I had the idea to bring my two loves together so I reached out to all my friends and some Etsy shop owners and came up with the idea to feature them on my blog between now and Christmas.
There are a range of products that will be featured and some of them are even giving away incredible discounts so be sure to stay tuned for that. I'm so excited to get this party started and to help us kick it off today is Lisa from
Showered With Design.
Hey Shabby Me
Saturday, September 17, 2016
Hi Peachies! Happy Sunday. I hope you're snuggled in with your favorite mug of coffee reading this post. If you aren't then I have the perfect fix for you because today I'm sharing one of my most favorite Etsy shops, Hey Shabby Me. I fell in love with her adorable coffee mugs when I was looking for a new daddy one for my brother.
I ended up buying him this Best Dad In The Galaxy one. When it came in the mail and I opened it up I couldn't wait to get my hands on my own Hey Shabby Me mug so I ordered myself the Mind Your Own Biscuits mug and from there it was a snowball effect. I couldn't stop so I also ordered myself this I'll Be In My Teepee mug.
As I sat on Hey Shabby Me's Etsy shop liking all the pretty things I decided to reach out to her and see if she would be interested in being featured on my blog and guess what y'all? She said yes so now is a good time to go grab that mug off coffee and get ready to read my Q & A session with Karla from Hey Shabby Me.

I can tell you from talking with Karla and shopping through her Etsy shop that she is such an inspirational, kind hearted person and she creates the most beautiful, great quality products. I really can't say enough wonderful things about Karla. Any questions or problems you message her with she's right on them. Her products are not only swoon worthy (seriously, you'll want to display your mugs because they ARE that cute!) they are high quality and are a nice size, too.
