Reading, Watching, Listening

Music, TV, Books and Podcasts are taking over our days lately and I will be the first to admit that I am a sucker for a good story; be it in any of those forms so I thought I would share what I'm Reading, Listening and Watching lately. So get ready to add some fun new books, podcasts and shows to your list. I'll admit though that there are no movies on this list because every time we put on a movie i'm sleeping away before the movie gets good. Oh! I did watch Wonder with my Mom and Grandma a couple weeks ago. I highly recommend it and would give it a 5 out of 5 so if you haven't already go watch it.

Now on with the show...or podcast...or book. You get the point.

Reading

Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe
It's an easy, fun read but I just can't put it down. I have to limit myself on reading time because, otherwise, i'll pick up my book and forget the rest of the world exists for hours, sometimes days, on end.

Watching

This Is Us
I was late to the party with this show because I put it off. I kept hearing everyone talk about all the feels and all the tears. It's not the feels I was worried about. It was the tears but several friends convinced me to watch it now i'm obsessed. It's worth all the tears because there are a lot of feel good moments, too.

Fixer Upper
It's another one of those feel good shows but I love this one because I can turn it on while i'm blogging and not miss much. Some would call it mindless t.v., I call it life and home decorating goals.

The Walking Dead
This show has me hooked. Actually, my husband got me hooked on it when we first started dating. I was never one for zombies and gore but I just got so attached to the characters. I probably would have cried at this week's episode if I wasn't so tired. #notlying This is our family tradition on Sunday nights, to curl up on the couch and watch TWD while not speaking to each other.

Listening

Podcasts

The Lady Gang
These girls feel like my best friends. They have the most real, un-filtered, honest conversations and I can honestly not get enough. I can't wait for every Tuesday when new episodes come out.

Wit & Wisdom
Kirsten and Erin talk about all things small business and entrepreneurship in their podcast. It's all about building community and beating algorithms, so if you're in small business you definitely need to check this out.

Girls & Ghouls
Kirsten and Erin are at it again in this hilarious spin on real life ghost stories. They'll creep you out but Erin and Kirsten always find a way to make you laugh out loud, too. This one is so good, y'all even my husband enjoys it. Just don't listen to it alone at night if you're a scaredy cat like me. #iwontlie

Girls Night with Stephanie May Wilson
This podcast feels like pizza dates in your sweats with your best girlfriends. It's real and honest and so heartfelt. Stephanie and a guest for the week talk about all the things that make us, as women, who we are. She's had her husband, Carl on, to talk marriage. She had on a counselor to talk about all the reasons why counseling is good for you and so many other guests that bring joy and value into the conversations that we, as women, need to have and hear the most.

Savvy Social Hour
Jenny is another biz babe that i've had the pleasure of talking to and interacting with because we're in some of the same blogging groups. Her podcast centers more on the blogging and business side of things. She tells us how to spring clean our blogs, which is something I never even thought of doing before. Her podcast is full of great information to push your blog or business to the next level.

Music

Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods album is on repeat. It's basically the only music I listen to now.

What are you reading, listening to or watching right now? I'm always on the hunt for some new entertainment.

  1. I've also been avoiding This is Us because I just don't want to cry that much! haha. I'm so sensitive and I know I would be an emotional mess.

    1. Becky, that's exactly why I didn't want to get sucked into TIU but let me tell you, it's worth every single emotion. I just have to pace myself and only watch an episode every other day or so.

  5. Oh fun! Looks like a great list :) I've been reading a novel that one of my English professors wrote, so that's kinda fun to read an indie press work right now. I've heard great things about This Is Us, and I always enjoy an episode of Fixer Upper! Right now I'm starting to watch The Man in the High Castle.
