2018 Word of the Year + Affirmations
Wednesday, January 3, 2018
Hi there.
I just love beginnings; beginnings of new years, new days, new weeks, new months. They all hold so much possibility and that really makes my heart happy. I'm a dreamer, a hopeless optimist and a lover of all the things. I choose to see the bright side of everything and rely on my faith far too often.
When I was in my early twenties I did one of those silly name tests where you take the first letter of your name and the color shirt you're wearing (or something equally as random and silly) and you get a new name based off of them. My name was Princess Head in the Clouds and it was true. It's still true 15 years later. It's just who I am and I love it.
There are times though, that I feel stuck. I get in bad moods and have days where nothing is going right and all I want to do is crawl back under the covers and sleep the mood away but i'm trying something new this year. I'm going to try using affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements that tell a truth or a message that your heart just needs to hear sometimes and when we repeat them to ourselves they actually become something we believe in.
Below are the pinable affirmations i've picked out for 2018. Feel free to use one or use them all on those days when you need a little extra sparkle or a reminder that you are awesome, your outfit looks amazing and you're crushing life.
Five Affirmations for 2018
On top of affirmations, i'm picking a word of the year this year. Last year's word was prioritize.
This year I wanted to pick a word that inspires me and pushes me to do hard things. A word that reminds me never to quit and always keep going. There are certainly days when I don't feel like putting in the work, and that's okay but I find that I need a little extra push on those days so my word for 2018 is Hustle. I plan on hustling with heart to reach the hard goals I set and to remind myself that a nap is okay every now and then but to get what I want out of life I always must keep going.
What's your word of the year?
May your 2018 be filled with magic and happiness and good health. May all your wishes and dreams come true.

ReplyDeleteHi Sweet Friend! Thank you so much. You are so sweet, I just try not to let the little things get me down and focus on the positive. You are the same way though, you always radiate such love and joy and I am blessed to call you a friend, too.
DeleteI really wish I had spent more time on my word of the year but it felt right to me so I went with it. I'm sure whatever yours comes to be, it will be special.
Love your affirmations, especially that last one! So so true. And your word of the year is fantastic! that would have worked well for me too, I think. I chose Adventure.

ReplyDeleteHi Tami! Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. I love your word of the year, too. It is definitely something I need to remember, as well!
DeleteI like your affirmations, in general your site
ReplyDeleteI think “Hustle” is a great word to visualize for 2018! I hadn’t given a lot of thought to a specific word for my year, but thinking about the list of goals I made, I think “Balance” is a good one for me. I want to use this year to find the balance among all aspects of my life!
ReplyDeleteI loved this post! One of my goals for 2018 is to recite affirmations daily. I'm definitely going to add these to my list!
