2018 Goals

Goodbye 2017. Hello 2018.

While 2017 was a fairly good year (my husband and I bought our first home together and moved), there was so much that I didn't do that I really wanted to.

In 2017 I really wanted to:

BLOG/INSTAGRAM

+ Take one webinar a month//I didn't take one every month but I did take several so i'll give myself some credit there.

+ Grow my blog lovin' to 200//I'm at 190 so i'm almost there.

+ Grow Instagram to 1,000//Because of the algorithim changes I didn't. I was at 860 in the summer then the number plummeted.
It's crawling back up now though so maybe this is the year.

+ Collaborate with other bloggers// I did do a few collabs with other bloggers so that's a win.

+ Host a link up//Thanks to my sweet friend Betsy I was able to participate in the Welcome Home Wednesdays link up where I even learned about coding, which wasn't really even a goal but a huge bonus because it felt so good to conquer that.

+ Start sponsorships// I had 12 sponsored posts on Peaches & Willow last year so that's definitely a win.

+ More fashion posts//Big win here because I did 7 style posts and ThredUp was my biggest sponsor of the year. #winning

+ Host an Instagram giveaway// I hosted a Mother's Day giveway and it was so much fun.

PERSONAL

+ Read for one hour a day// This was a struggle. I read one entire book and that was it.

+ Lunch/Girls Day once a month//Though I didn't keep track I will give myself partial credit because I went to lunch a lot more this year with girlfriends. The entire month of December was filled with lunch dates and girl time. In September, my former neighbor and I staered monthly lunch dates because we don't see each other every day anymore. That's been so fun.

+ Practice being still and intentional//This goal was easily one of the best ones I made this year because it made me slow down and focus on what really matters most.

+ Go on a family vacation// Fail but for good reason. See below.

+ Build our house// Fail but we did buy a new house that we are so in love with. The home is much bigger than what we could have built and the neighbors are amazing. Getting here was a hard process and there were lots of tears (by me) but it was worth it. It's also why we didn't go on a family vacation in 2017 but I still wouldn't change a it.

+ Exercise five x's a week//some weeks I was really good, other's not so much but I'm calling it a fail because, overall, I gained weight instead of lost it.

+ Stay on top of e-mail inbox//I did so much better with this goal but i'm about to create another e-mail to set up my Peaches & Willow Facebook account so I get to start all over.

+ Monthly date nights with my hubby//We didn't do date nights per se but we did have a lot of day dates, which were just as fun so i'm calling this a win.

+ Open an etsy shop// This didn't happen but I decided that my heart just wasn't in it so I put it on the back burner. That's where it remains for now. Maybe this will be the year it'll happen but probably not, if i'm being honest.

    1. Hi Ashley. I love your goal of traveling more, especially to smaller cities and weekend trips. Honestly small towns are my favorites and I definitely want to spend more time exploring them. Even the ones around me. That's such a great goal! I may have to use that one, too.

  3. Doing a webinar a month is SUCH a good idea and not something I'd think about haha. I just did one last month and it really helped me get recharged and excited about blogging for the new year.

    1. Hi the southern smiths. It sounds like you've got some exciting things happening soon. Congratulations on the new baby girl. I'm definitely trying to get into shape this year, too. My husband will be invited to a ball in December for being at his job for 10 years, it's a big deal and I want to look good in a pretty dress then.

    1. Hi Lanae. I agree. I need to learn how to take better photos, too. Flay lays are hard and so it finding the right lighting. I'm planning on making a home made ring light soon and sharing the tutorial on the blog. I'm sure that'll help the picture taking process some. I would love to do a series on taking better blog pics!

    1. Hi Taylor. Thank you so much! Only having one goal is okay because you still have something to work towards. I'm glad my post got you thinking about your blog and Instagram though. It's hard to balance it all but I have faith in you!

  7. Email newsletter was one of the main things I accomplished last year on my goals list. You will be so glad when you do it. I don't do as much with my list as I'd like to, but I still love it!

    1. Hi LaShell. Instagram is a tough one lately because of all the algorithim changes and the whole follow/unfollow thing. Just keep with it though and keep posting what you like, it'll all work out if you stay with it and stay true to your heart. Cheers to 2018!

  9. I hope you are able to attend more events for blogging! I get nervous around people I don't know so I also sometimes back out of those types of events. Your recipe idea sounds great! You can try new food and let your readers know what you thought of it. I'd like to read a post like that!

    1. Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for your sweet words. I love to hear what my readers truly want more of so now that I know, there will be more recipe posts for sure! Isn't going to events with people you don't know the hardest? I know i'd enjoy it if I went, that's why it's one of my goals this year but convincing myself to go is the hardest part!
