August Goals

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday. We're so close to Friday I can feel it and boy do I need it! Our sweet boy started school yesterday and these early mornings are kicking my tail right now. I'm totally un-inspired on every level right now. I just want a cup of coffee the size of my head, my favorite sweats, a blanket and a nap but I also want to enjoy this last hour and a half of quiet and catch up on all things blog. So here I am :) Designer bags under my eyes and all.

I realize that it's already the 6th of August but now's a good time to bring back my monthly goals, right? I need some motivation and I'll totally to be able to rock these goals this month & I'll have accountability if I put it out there for everyone else to see.

1. More quiet time.
I get 8 hours to myself a day but I need to get back to making some of that quiet time where I can do my daily devotional and spend time in the silence.
Too often the t.v. is on and i'm not really listening to it so why not turn it off and enjoy the silence?
Maybe I can even read the magazines that are stacked up on my coffee table and the book that's been in my car for a year, only partially read.

2. Step up my work out game.
I do about 30 minutes of yoga in the mornings except for the weekends.
It's time to do that, even on the weekends and add more work outs into my days.
I'm about to start a 21 day fix with my brother's sister in law so that will help but I need to keep them both going even after the challenge is done.

3. Eat healthier.
We did good with this for a while now we've slipped back into eating crappy again.
I'm still using MyFitnessPal app and keeping my calories under 1,500 but I'm not eating healthy.
I'm always on the look out for new vegetable recipes so if you have any please send them my way.

4. Start walking in the evenings.
My fiancee has been saying we need to do this all summer but it's been a scorcher or else it's raining.
I have friends who still walk in the 100+ degree heat and rain so time to stop making excuses.

5. Continue to grow my blog.
And learn how to add new things to it.
I have a whole list of things I want to do to my blog still.

6. Get back into a school routine.
I know this one will happen given time, it's only been two days but already I feel frazzled & tired.
Frazzled because i'm tired.

7. Manage to stay awake after we put our kiddo in bed and enjoy time with my honey.
Bless him.
I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow these days.
Summer is great because we were staying up until 11 and 12 and enjoying quality time together.

8. Put away the electronics more in the evenings.

And enjoy quality time with my guys.

9. Make and sell at least two pieces of jewelry this month.
I haven't made anything new to sell all summer so I definitely need to work on this.

10. Continue my skin care routine.
I've amped it up and am doing it in the morning and at night right now and it feels amazing.
I just need to keep it up!!!

11. Get together with friends at least twice this month.
I miss all our friends.
Lives get busy and everything but we don't get together nearly enough.

12. Spend more time in nature.
I love being outside, I really do but with the million degrees it's been it hasn't been very enjoyable.

13. Send more snail mail.
You know, the old fashioned way.

So those are my goals for this month. Help keep me in line, will you, please? We can help each other out and cheer each other on!

What are some of your goals for this month?

Mama's Retail Therapy.

Today is the first day of school here in Georgia. Yes,it's only August 5th but we get out at the end of June so we go back earlier than everyone else in the country, too. To be honest, it's a bittersweet time because, of course, I love having my dude home with me during the summer and we can do as we please whenever we want but I also hear a lot of "Do we really need to go to Target today?" Target is interchangeable with everywhere else I want to go. Add that with a lot of huffing and puffing, eye rolling and mumbling b/c he doesn't want to go anywhere & summer gets boring. Fast. So I am happy to have my eight hours a day back to do whatever I want, especially if it involves leaving the house-which is exactly what I did today.

I took my 7th grader to school, but not before I snapped a few pics.

That was as good as it got but he was cooperative for those. Beggers really can't be choosers.

After I took him to school I decided it was time for me to enjoy my first day of freedom by shopping so I made my way to Marshall's because hello! Cute clothes, cheap Essie nail polishes and tons of other cute things! If I had all the money I would've bought the entire store. Okay, not the entire store but a lot of it. Here is what I bought though.

Two comfy, basic tee shirts and two pretty new nail polishes. I've been on the look out lately for basic tee shirts that aren't super clingy. I found these two that are amazing. And of course I can never say no to a nail polish, especially when they're on the cheap. Essie polishes are /2 price @ Marshall's so I forsee myself buying lots and lots more.

I'm always on the look out for basic tees so where do you shop for them?

Top Three Tuesday + a bonus.

Happy Tuesday my loves! I hope you're all doing fabulously today! We only have 3 more days until the weekend! YAY! That also means today is the last day before I officially have a 7th grader! What?!? I'm still trying to figure out when this happened. I thought he was just a baby last week. *SIGH*

This also means it's time for the Tuesday Three link up with Becca Dorr. Top Three Tuesday. To join in simply list Three Things that make you happy in the comments below or write a post and leave it in the comments of my post.

One. Back to school tomorrow. This one is bittersweet. Of course I miss my dude when he's at school but I get 8 hours to myself. Eight hours to shop and run errands. Eight hours of quiet. Eight whole hours. This also means I get back my hour of reading time because I sit in the car rider's line that long so I read.

Two. This blog of mine is finally taking off. I've been getting comments here and there but i'm putting more effort in & i've become more active in my blog groups so it's really growing and the best part?? I'm meeting some amazing women along the way!

Three. Monday started the accountability group i've become part of with my awesome coach. She's also my brother's sister in law and is super sweet and motivating!! Next Monday we kick it into high gear! Let's do this!!

Four. (Y'all get a bonus today) Coffee. I love coffee, that's no secret but my amazing fiancee ordered us a sampler pack of k-cups on Saturday and they arrived yesterday! Yummy!!!

So what's making you happy today? I hope it's a sunshine-y, bright, happy day in your little corner of the world!

Monday Coffee Talk 2

Happy Morning Loves! I sure hope you're all having a wonderful day so far. I know Mondays are a drag for all of us, this one is for me especially. My son starts back to school on Wednesday and we have open house tonight. Ugh! They pack 3 zillion people into a tiny building, it's hot and sweaty, and smelly. No fun BUT it's also when we get our son's schedule and we can meet his teachers. Fun times, NOT!
Anyway, my Monday is off to a pretty productive start. I got up and have already gotten house work and a work out done! Woo hoo! Today is also the link up with Jasmine over atClassy Sassy and a bit Smartassy. She does a Monday link up called Monday Coffee Talk. I love Coffee and I love talking so boom!! You can join the link up here Monday Coffee Talk.

Monday Coffee Talk is where bloggers can list three goals they wish to accomplish for the week. They can be personal, business, blog related. Whatever it is you want to accomplish, just write 'em down and link 'em up.

Here were last week's goals. How'd I do?

1. Bridal everything.
Finish up a few invitations and get them in the mail.
Start planning my shower with the help of my sis in law and other friends.
Plan my bachelorette shower. My sis in law has a good handle on this one for me.
♡ With the help of my sweet sister in law, we got invites ordered and sent out. Actually I found them on etsy, she took care of the rest.
She's awesome!
Those invitations are still waiting to be sent.
My sis in law is planning this, too. We have a plan now ;)

2. Blog. Blog. Blog.
I've got so much I want to do with my blog.
Pinterest button.
Add pages.
Finish my button.
And read the zillion pins i've pinned on this subject.
♡ The week got the best of me and I didn't get most of this done but I did post every day but Saturday & Sunday so that's something.
Still more to do, always and I enjoy every minute of it.

3. Cook at home every night.
I'm usually pretty good at this but we do have one night a week we cheat and eat out.
This week I want to cook every night & try to have it done when my honey walks in the door.
♡ Almost. We got Chinese delivered on Wednesday night b/c our son spent the night away and my fiancee and I didn't want to cook so I still call it a win!!

Now, for this week's goals.

1. Wedding!
Finish those invitations and get them sent out!

2. Step up my work out.
I usually do 3 yoga routines but I want to add at least one more this week & do 4! I can totally do this!

3. Just survive!
With my son starting back to school there will be lots of grumpiness while we smooth out our routine again.
I forsee more coffee than usual this week!!

So what are your goals for the week?
I find that it helps to break them down into smaller goals. I get more doe that way ;)
